Forza 5 loop ?

hi all, (feel free to move to correct area)

Just started playing forza 5, (2 hours ago) loaded ok, did my first 2 races ok, then it said championship complete and went to the page with the 6 (?) different championships.

at that point, I couldn't make the game do ANYTHING no matter what button I pressed on the controller (10 mins or so) so I ejected the disc, at this point 'installation stopped' flashed up at me so I re inserted the disc.

now, I get to the loading page (black screen, orange p1) and it says press A to start. I press a and it starts to load (circle thing in corner)

then after about 20 seconds I get the 'video' of the shiny cars, then it goes back to the loading screen for 20 seconds then back to the video, and on and on

what the hell is going on ????

8 second reboot, complete uninstall and re-install and still keeps looping on the start screen.

Time for a refund. How do I go about getting this title refunded?

Hi guys, having a little trouble with this. Keep starting the game and when it says to Press A i do and then it just replays the same opening little movie, over and over.

Did a full reboot and no effect. Just keeps looping same video.

Any thoughts?

 

Sounds to me like you fubared the installation by ejecting the disc while it was in progress. The game was letting you play what had already been installed. I would uninstall the game and reinstall it and see where that gets you.

 

I believe Awesome is correct. The Xbox One allows you to play games before it's completely done installing, but as a result, you only get limited access.

 

Yeah, now trying to re install for the 3rd time......

 

Disconnect your internet and install it

 

^^ I hear that helps with disc-based installations by speeding it up - very useful if you're an impatient person.

 

Tried that, no effect. Spent an hour n a half on live chat with support last night with no effect. Going to try forza tech sup today after work. Is there a 'factory reset' option anywhere ? Only just starting my xbo journey so don't really mind what little
saves I have at this point

 

There should be 1 under settings, although I can't recall specifically where.

 

If you haven't already, I would do a power cycle, then uninstall the game, delete your game save, do another power cycle, then reinstall the game.

Another thing to keep in mind with Forza 5 is that you have to complete the first 5 races before you can do anything else in the game. So, when you've got the game reinstalled and you're ready to go - make sure that you allocate about 45 minutes to complete
the first races in the game in single session.

 

Same exact thing is happening to me - even after the third time uninstalling and reinstalling. I've disconnected my internet also before installing. I've done all the things people have suggested and it doesn't stay working for very long. I've let the game
fully install before even trying to play it. I can play for a race or two then it goes back into this endless loop that the OP is describing. Game is unreliable at this point. I'm hoping the store will take this defective game back and I can replace it with
something else...

 

Has there been any " fixes" to the continue loop. I have tried to uninstall re install the game twice. Even took the game back to the retailer and got another game and the same thing happened. I made sure the game was loaded at 100 percent before even trying
to start the game just keeps looping . I reset the xbox1 back to factory settings. I have done as much research as I can and there is not one answer fix for this issue .

 

Hi mate,

make sure game is loaded, mine took an hour !

Then go in games and apps, highlight forza and press menu button on controller.

Go into manage game and u shd get ur user tag at the side

Delete all saves everywhere

Go back to dashboard

Do a power cycle

That should b it. It worked for me

 

Thank You this seems to have worked. It makes since that old data over new data would not work and a clean history helps since the game pulls from this for the starting point, Well done Carlhusky8801 !
