Forza 5 failed download. Cause SSD to constantly be active.

These steps can help you, give it a try.
Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates.
1. Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app
2. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset.
3. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.
4. Open the Microsoft Store app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner>downloads updates>get updates and update everything.
5. Press the Windows Button then type Services.
Right-click over the Services App from the list of results.
Then select Run as Administrator
Scroll to the bottom and find the following services:
IP Helper
Xbox Live Auth Manager,
Xbox Live Game Save,
Xbox Live Networking Service,
Gaming Services.
Do this with each of the services listed above.
Right-click over the service and select Properties.
Find the Startup type section and make sure it’s set to Automatic.
If the service isn’t started, click Start to start the services.

Click Apply and OK to save changes.

6. Restart your PC, log in to both apps and see if that solves the problem.

none of these worked at all. This is what is going on. Constantly trying to download the game.

Do not own these games and no longer have xbox live on pc anymore.

Everytime it tries to download, my drive gets active.

I have had the same wifi for more than a year and it was never this bad, BO3 is unpleayable, Titanfall 2 is berly playable and GTA V somethimes goes smooth but it always lags every 5 minutes, Saving fails constantly I always get the saving failed notification,
downloading my characters data fails constantly, Time joining sessions times out constantly, its just bad

and just think, with all the writing to those ssd's it won't be long before they degrade and become useless, just think about the one inside the xbox that is not easy to change. ssd's are still finite in the amount of writes and games in excess of 100gb being constantly moved and written back to the ssd will finish it off pretty quick.

in my line of work i see ssd's failing all the time, be it standard ssd, m.2 even the latest revisions of m.2, well before they should do.

As EggsBoxJaun has already stated the 4 gig SSD failed. Flash memory has an extremely short life-cycle and isn't designed to be constantly accessed. A lot of people choose to use it even knowing this fact because the I/O speed is incredibly fast compared
to a platter based storage device.



If you want to be able to use the 4 gig SSD then you will need to request a repair from Microsoft to have the SSD replaced.
