forza 5 drivatar!

Ok so has anybody else noticed how GOOD!!! the drivatars have got recently??

i was having a bit of a bash last night and wow the racing was great!

i was having some great battles with the drivatar

Side my side through the corners no first corner crashies out breaking each other !

I mean it really was fantastic almost like racing a real life clean racer online!!

Anyway i felt this should be said as we dont seem to hear all the positive stuff at the moment

So if you havent played forza 5 for awile i would say check it out

I've said it a few times ..

Cloud/Drivatar made Forza 5 stand out from any other racer I've ever played.

No more boring/predictable AI, no more is it a case of learning how the AI drive and just planning your route around them, you can race the same track 10 times in a row and no race is ever the same.

Fantastic title.

 

Tbh,i'm getting fed up with the drivatar thing.The amount of times i've had to restart a race because they just slam their brakes on for no reason is getting old now.

I just sigh whenever Sebring or The Bugatti tracks come up as i know it's going to take several goes to actually get through the first few corners.

 

I just wish there were more than 5 Drivatars in the race. I'd rather the grid was made up completely from my friends list rather than the current mix of real drivatars and normal AI.

Also like i said im my op i havent had to restart a race cause a first corner crash for a good wile

What level you got your drivatars set to badger?

 

Drivatars are great but the race format is a bit of a let down.



The fact that people haven't earned their grid positions and restricting you to 2 laps forces people to be overly aggressive.



It's less of a race and more of a free for all for the first couple of corners.



Also if you take the racing line it's not uncommon for your "Drivatar" buddies to slam into your back end or shunt you to try and get on the inside.



On the one hand the Drivatars are amazing because they add an element of realism that you just didn't get with clinical A.I.



But because the races aren't really races... just quick sprints.



It's a shame the lap count doesn't build as you progress because if people had the time to drive they wouldn't be desperately crashing through corners because they've only got 2 laps to get into the top 3.



These short races promote bad behaviour and this is what brings the quality of our Drivatars down.

@ campo, my GF plays on her profile and has all Driveatar opponents even though she only has one friend on her friends list (me). Never seen normal AI in Forza.

 

I don't think the Drivatars that are not from you friends list are real people. The gamertags exist, but when you check them on Smartglass they seem to all have very low gamercore with zero friends and followers. Also no game history or clips to view.

The gamertags also seem to be created with a random generator, very often just two words with a number.

Just my observation, I maybe wrong. Perhaps someone else can check out some of the drivatars you encounter and see if you think they are real gamers.

 

Maybe, my GFs Gamertag is the same format as it's the MS generated one, two words and a number. If you checked her you would see one friend and zero followers. She is real enough though.

That's true.



For shorter tracks they let you race for 3 laps.



Creates the same problems though.



You can customise your own races and that's fine but it would just make the career mode was more like a career mode.

Also if you think about how many Ones were sold over Christmas and the fact that with Home Gold one console can generate loads of profiles then I would think there are loads of profiles similar to hers, just created to play Forza, with hardly any GS and
no followers or friends. How active those profiles are is unknown but if the driveatars were created they will still be racing around.

 

@Genchy, I think you are correct. I checked about 40 drivatars and eventually found a couple that had genuine looking profiles. Like you said, there must be many thousands of new profiles out there, and it seems to be matching me with most of them!

I still wish it would use more than 5 drivatars from your friends list though.
