    Forza 4 Hang Type Activation Possibly Solved, worked for me


    To all my fellow gamers in reference to Forza 4 Horizon PC Ultimate who receive the Hang Type Activation, I think I may have solved the problem.

    After doing a clean windows 10 pro build 2004 install, I loaded all updates, then installed the GeForce experience for my GeForce 2080ti. Once I did a full of Forza Ultimate from the xboxlive application, it clearly did as it did before, just crashed at
    Hang Type Activation. However, I noticed a problem with my scale and layout settings were set to the recommended 150%

    So, I decided to scale down to 125% (without a reboot) and decided to execute Forza for the hell of it, guess what, that did it for me. The game did not crash after this. Fully surprised with the results, I decided to go back to the recommended 150%, executed
    the game, crashed at hang type activation. Once I went back to 125%, the game executed with perfection.

    Please give this a try and let me know the results.

    I apologize for the lack of details. So, in Windows 10, right click anywhere on your desktop, choose display settings, then scroll down to scale and layout settings. Once you are there, you may have it set to the recommended settings. All you have to do
    is choose another setting aside from the recommended setting, do not reboot, then try executing the game to see if it works. I had to remove McAfee Total Protection first before doing this and it worked for me. If you have a Internet Security Suite, you may
    need to remove it first, reboot, then try to adjust the scale and layout settings. Let me know if you are successful as I was able to play this game after not being able to play it for months.

    I have a GTX1080 SC2 and I still haven't been able to play Forza due to Hang Type:Activation - I didn't see anything in Geforce Experience about scaling and layout, but I did find Image Sharpening under Manage 3D settings in the Nvidia control panel -
    Forza was set at "NVIDIA Recommended" instead of using the global setting of Off. Turning it Off for Forza didn't help; still won't run.

    Interesting, but please explain a little bit more into detail.

    What do you mean by "scale and layout settings"? Is that something having to do with the game's UI, Windows' UI?

    I've had this problem for a little less than a year, so it would seriously help if this may be the case.

    Also, is the "xboxlive" application just the "Xbox" app?

    it appears the solution was more to do with the conflicting antivirus rather than the scaling and it just so happened to work out for you
