Forza 2 lost all my game progress after trying to start the game at a friends house

This reply is late but in case you didnt get your save data back. Microsoft may be able to help. months ago i played Titanfall and i went from a gen 8 to a gen 1 out of nowhere. So i went online and chatted with microsoft support and told them about my
corrupted save and when it happened. So i told him around what time and day it happened and some how he was able to restore a save i had from the day before i got deranked. I was back to a gen 8 and playing right after he did it. Support will have you do
a bunch of stuff like HARD RESET, UNPLUG POWER CORDS, UNPLUG FROM WALL, DID YOU TRY TO REINSTALL blah blah blah after that they should do what i said above. I hope this helps.

First confirm you’re using the correct Xbox profile, as game saves are connected to each profile and not the device itself. It’s also ideal to be connected to Xbox Live.

If you have the game on an Xbox or another PC, try syncing your save from your main console. This could just be a case that your PC or Xbox hasn’t synced your game data to the cloud correctly. This happened to me with the game at a friend’s house recently.

You’ll need to reach out to Forza support for help with lost progress.

As David mentioned above, you may not get all your game progress and in-game items back.

Unfortunately, your game progression (Level, skill points, general progress etc) won’t be returned. Support (neither Xbox or Forza Support) are unable to help with lost saves/progress in Forza. Your inventory (Cars, credits, vanity items, wheel spins) can be recovered though.

Once you’ve gone through all the steps on the support page linked above contact Forza support (submit a ticket and they’ll reply by email).

Support will only be able to assist once you’ve completed all the required steps, and they can verify weather the steps were completed successfully.

This has happened to me as well. Lost all my tracking progress for Forza Horizon 2 - when I checked the achievement app thoroughly, the progress on all locked achievements is now showing as 0%

I also lost my progress in my forza games that are online/offline
