Forum Patch Notes

Heyo all. Let me start off by offering a heartfelt "Thank you." Since the launch of the new forums platform, we've received a tremendous amount of feedback from all of you. That has been invaluable to us as we've looked to improve these forums and make them
better, cooler, faster, etc. I'd like to show you a list of what we've been working toward. You can think of this as our "Forum Patch Notes."

October 25th updates:

-- Improved Create Post Experience: The new create post update provides an improved path to ensure that your post has been created in the correct forum with the best visibility. This update brings a streamlined flow when creating a post by
reducing the initial options when you select a forum. Once you select your desired forum, you will then need to choose the appropriate category and topic. Check out the new changes here:





-- Redesigned Browse: We've redesigned the browse experience and removed the game tile images in favor of a simpler, less cluttered view. With this update, you will be able to navigate through the Forums faster with ease. Ultimately this redesign will
make it easier for you to find threads and forums you are interested in. Take a look at the redesigned browse here:







August 18th updates:





-- Thread List Redesign: We've redesigned the thread list view to provide an improved experience by eliminated extra space and condensing the amount of text that is visible for each thread. Additionally, threads that were created by Official Staff
and Moderator's can be easily distinguished by the badge displayed on the left side of the thread. Take a look at the new design here:







April 19th updates:

-- Improved Search: We've improved the search feature to include the ability to search by keyword. Simply type in what you would like to search for in the the search bar and the results will appear below. Additionally, you can filter the results
by clicking one of the options listed under "Refine Results". Take a look at the improved search feature here:















March 21st updates:



-- Email Notifications: We've added the option to receive email notifications for different forum activities. Specifically, you can receive an email notification once a thread you have created or followed receives a reply. You can
enable email notifications from the Settings tab listed in the navigation bar. Simply click on the "Receive email notifications" check box and then click "Save" to enable this feature. Note: This feature is only available for English markets.







February 15th updates:



-- Improved Navigation Bar: We've made some changes to the navigation bar to provide the option to easily navigate to a forum category by simply clicking on the drop-down list. We have also added a few new topics such as Rules and Feedback. Take a
look at the new navigation bar below:



-- New Hero Design: The home page has been redesigned to offer a fresh new look, which includes clickable tiles that link to trending and important forum updates. Check out the new design here:



-- Recently Played Section: Would you like to discuss a game that you've recently played? Just click the "Recently Played" tab to see a list of game forums that match the titles that you have recently played. This new tab looks like this:



-- Followed Forums Section: We've renamed the "Forums for you" section to "Followed Forums". Any forum that you've followed will be listed in this section. Check out the image below to see what this new section looks like:





-- Explore Categories Section: You can now easily scroll through all of the different forum categories right from the home page. This new addition allows you to navigate to a forum category of your choice from one central location. The new tab looks
like this:



January 17th updates:

--"My Discussions" Area: This was probably the most highly requested feature. You can now easily find threads in which you're involved or have chosen to follow. Simply click the "Go to my discussions" button on the home page or at the top
of any subforum page. Once you've clicked on that button, you can refine the 'My Discussion' results using the filters over on the right-hand side.



-- Create Post Button: In order to make the pages feel a bit less cluttered, we've removed the "Create a new post" bar and replaced with a button. Overall the process for creating a new post won't really change. You'll just enter your title and choose
your destination on the same page that you format the post itself now. This mainly just cleans up the forum pages themselves. That button is right next to the "Go to the my discussions" button and it looks like this:



Here's a list of features we've introduced to the forums already. You can try these out today:

-- Unread/read thread title distinction: This feature allows you to tell (by looking at a thread's title) whether it's a thread you've already viewed. Threads that you've never viewed will have their titles in the standard green. Threads that you've
already opened will have their titles in grey. Note: We're working to continue improving on this feature in the future as well.



-- Hyperlink identification: Hyperlinks are now a different color (green) from the remainder of the text in a post, making them easier to notice.



-- Last reply shortcut: This is a handy feature that allows you to skip straight to the last reply in a thread. It's especially helpful on those longer multipage threads. To use this one, simply click the hyperlinked text "Last replied by:" from the thread
list view. It's right next to the Gamertag of the person who posted the last reply.



-- Thread list redesign: We heard a lot of feedback about how the thread list view looks. With that in mind, we’ve removed excess blank space and condensed things into a more compressed view. We'll be actively looking for more feedback on this revamped
view and will possibly make additional changes.

-- Improved Rich Text Editor: We've increased the options available while creating posts. Specifically, you're now able to include bullet points, numbering, and tables in your post. Did you make a mistake while posting? We've got you covered!
You now have the option to undo and redo the edits that you've made in your post. Additionally, you can click on "Format" to increase/decrease your font size as well as a few extra choices.

-- Discussion vs Support Highlight: We recognized that it could be a bit difficult to tell which filter ('Discussion' or 'Support' is active in the thread list view, so we highlighted it a bit better.

AC Origins patch 1.1 to increase graphics on X

Finally looks like we might get some 4k textures. Or at least something like that. Also pop up will be reduced among other enhancements.

EA Issues Response On YouTube Scandal Involving Battlefield 4

So right! They have been releasing patches but not complete fixes. The open up more issues on each patch.

 

I like this new forums its more organized and quick to find what you are looking for love it keep up the good work

Totally agree an app is needed

 

Alot easier to navigate now. I like it. Just cant figure out how to set my gamertag as display name

 

I had to clear my cookies. Sign back in at Answers. Pick the Microsoft account option and it'll then ask you if you want to use your community display name or your gamertag. That's what worked for me.
