    Fortnite Xbox to ps4 cross play


    I know this has been asked before and i have looked and followed every piece of advice available on youtube and other forums.

    Ive recently started playing fortnite on xbox online. I am having problems talking to my friends who use it on a ps4 platform.

    i have checked all the permission settings on the xbox itself within and xbox live privacy screen and even gone over the top with removing any of the restrictions so that anything is possible.

    Within fortnite itself i have tried the trick of turning off/on voice chat, changing to party or game mode, changed the controller setup as suggested somewhere and attempted to speak in party’s in the lobby or on battle mode.

    I can hear friends on xbox’s but no on ps4. Sometimes i cant hear anyone and next to ky user name the speaker icon doesnt have any of the sound waves coming out of it like other users.

    my headset is fine and works in other games on on xbox live party’s with others so its not that.

    i have linked the epic games account and even made sure my ps4 friends are added to my friends list on the website.

    i feel like ive tried everything and cant get it to work, help?!!

    Square Enix has declared that they would like to bring FFXIV on XBOX ONE and SWITCH with cross-platform play with PC and PS4. That will probably be the main issue considering how SONY is not willing to enable the cross-play on PS4 (see Fortnite as an example).

    Fortnite does not support cross-play, only progress will be save in switching between PC and PS4 (only PS4 and not Xbox is specified). I direct you to the

    The issue is Sony, who won't allow games to have cross-play between Xbox One and PS4.
