Fortnite (Xbox One X)

Hey Everyone,

I remember reading something yesterday about Fortnite having recent lag issues with Xbox One, and that they were planning on releasing a lower FPS mode.

It's not something I play myself but I was wondering if anybody else had read similar and can confirm that this is definitely the case.

I have seen a few similar questions asked, and want to make sure I'm not misleading or giving the wrong information.

Fortnite running well on my old xbox one and lagging a lot on my new xbox one x

i buy myself an xbox one x and fortnite is lagging a lot and when i unplug it to plug my old xbox one fortnite run without lag ... the two are working with the same internet connection and my connection is good ... do i return my xbox one x for a new one
or is there a solution to fix this

 

Can I use keyboard and mouse?

I verified that you can use the keyboard in fortnite from xbox one (no s or x) however when you connect a mouse it does not respond

 

There has been no official announcement from Epic on any Xbox specific items. There maybe posts on the forums,

here. There was a patch about a year ago that enabled specific Xbox One X support. I'd say check out the Fortnite forums at Epic Games site, or the Fortnite subreddit at reddit.com/r/fortnitebr for more targeted information and audience.

I had looked at the forums but I may have been looking in the wrong place.

In the news section, from a release on the 18th there is a sub article that does seem to indicate / correlate that there may be issues with performance and graphics changes that have been applied.

I'll continue to see if I can hunt around and get more information on this, but if anybody does know something.

Do you remember where you saw the details about the issue? Fortnite is ridiculously huge, so there is information on it every which way you look, and when it comes to speculation and issues, it can be so widespread and inaccurate. Particularly since
there are so many different platforms, from Xbox to PC to cell phones. I, personally, prefer to go to the developer forums and engage there, as the community teams have direct lines to the developers and can provide direct and accurate feedback.

I have edited and included a source which indicates potential graphic issues.

I saw it as a news feed item while on my phone yesterday.

I have seen similar news stories for PUBG, so I think it may had just been an error on their part as can't see anything significant really for Fortnite.

 

Ah, I missed that on the patch notes. So many graphics on that page for a set of patch notes. Yeah, so it looks like they did have some performance updates around RAM; you might be able to get more specific answers from the community manager on the forums,
but might be real in the weeds and not something they disclose at it's internal proprietary code changes with no forward facing user impact.

Anyway, hope the update helps it run better for you.

 

My son has a difficult time playing it on the X compared to the regular console.

I have only been able to find what you did also. With that cpu optimization that could help with FPS in a way due to it copies faster.

Other than that I haven't found out much else either.
