Fortnite xbox mic problem

So i have been on Xbox for a while now and i thought i should start streaming on mixer so i did then i realised on the stream my friends voices wernt coming through even if they were on xbox (Yes i know that you can use party chat on xbox) but mostly my
ftiends on ps4 and yes i am using a headset with a mic

They have to include their audio in the party settings. Once they do that you will hear them in the stream.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Maybe going into the Fortnite settings and checking which mic it is using? Also maybe check the permissions for Fortnite. I dont play Fortnite so idk if this will work, these are problems I have encountered with other apps.

This same issue has been ongoing for months. My son can hear his friends but his mic doesnt work.

The “fix” where you turn off the mic and push to talk in fortnite settings would occasionaly work bit now doesnt.

all other games and apps work with the mic.

The problem persists on another xbox signed in with his profile, using a different headset, so this is not a hardware issue.

other profiles on his xbox have no issues with sound/mic

this is an issue effecting certian profiles accross fortnite only party chat, xbox party chat works fine, which cant be used for crossplatform party play.

Hey, instead of this problem only happening in fortnite, my the xbox isnt picking up any sound but has been working fine for several months. My mic monitering is working like always, it relays sound back to me of its too loud, but the xbox isnt sensing
any audio at all from the mic.
