Fortnite won’t install and is giving me errors.

    Hello Microsoft,

I’m having a big problem with playing Fortnite. I’ve been playing the game for a long time now almost 3 years and about a month ago it gave me the error (0x80070570) saying that it couldn’t boot the game and that it was corrupted and needed to be deleted and reinstalled. I did exactly that but when I tried to install the game it says it has an installation error and it is till corrupt. I’ve tried to fix this my self by clearing my local game caches and even giving my Xbox a soft-reset. However this hasn’t fixed the issue and when I try to install it it gives the same installation error. The weirdest part is that even when I delete the game it still sits in my library and when click on it gives the (0x80070570) error.

I haven’t tried giving my Xbox a hard-reset because I’m scared that will rid of all my current game and app data.

Is this even a Xbox Issue or should I contact EpicGames about it. Also if the only way to fix it is to clear my data I want a full refund on everything I spent in the game.

    Let me know.

    :)

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

It can be an issue with the console or your external hard drive if there is.

I would like to clarify, do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? If yes, please unplug the hard drive and then perform a powercycle before reinstalling the game, keep the hard drive unplugged.

If there is no external hard drive, you may need to reset the console keeping your games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

It won’t let me install Fortnite

    Hello Goat,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We understand you are having issues with installing and updating Fortnite on your Xbox One S. We really appreciate your patience in trying to resolve it.

There are a few possible causes for this problem, such as corrupted game data, network issues, or insufficient storage space.

Here are some steps you can try to fix it:

    - Make sure you have enough free space on your console's hard drive. You can check this by going to Settings > System > Storage. Fortnite requires about 35 GB of space to install and update.

    - Check your network connection and speed. You can do this by going to Settings > Network > Network settings. Make sure you have a stable and fast internet connection. You can also try using a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi if possible.

    - Restore Console settings to factory: Before doing the steps, please make sure to remember your account credentials.

    1. Go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info and choose Reset console.
    2. Select Reset and keep my games & apps. This resets the Xbox operating system and deletes any corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

If none of these steps work, please let us know and we will try to assist you further. You can also contact Epic Games Support for more help with Fortnite-related issues. Their website is Epic Games Support.

    Happy Gaming!

    Sincerely,
