Fortnite with two Xbox consoles and one Xbox Gold Account

Hello everyone,

I am coming here as a last resort to an issue I have been having with Epic Games and Fortnite specifically. I am at my wits end with the Epic “customer service” - the answers they provide are complete gibberish and never address my actual questions specifically.

I have two Xbox One S consoles. These consoles share one Xbox Gold account. Each console has its own Fortnite “account” - one for each of my children. These accounts were initially setup through each Xbox console, not through Epic Games. I believe these
are each considered “nameless” accounts.

My kids received Fortnite gift cards at Christmas. But they can’t use them without an Epic account, and despite months of trying to create and link each console to an Epic account, nothing works whatsoever. And I didn’t learn about the “merge” option until
it was long gone.

My second concern is what happens to those accounts if we upgrade or replace each console, given that I cannot merge or tie them to an epic account?

I was told to delink/link those consoles but that does not do anything - perhaps because it is all happening under the same Microsoft Account.

So my questions are:

1) Is there a way to link each console’s separate Fortnite nameless account to Epic under one Xbox Gold/Microsoft account membership? (I have separate family accounts for my kids under my master Microsoft account) - if so how do I accomplish this?

2) How do I save the fortnite content on each console should I need to replace those consoles?

Again, I have tried tirelessly to communicate and get help from Epic. Their customer service is an absolute joke, likely why they received an “F” with the Better Business Bureau. They literally provide answers that absolutely make no sense: “What color
is the sky?” - Epic: “Try using agave instead of honey to see if your tea will taste sweeter”. It is a farce, especially given how much money has been put into these accounts.

Any help or guidance anyone can provide here is deeply appreciated, as I know this is more an Epic issue than an Xbox/Microsoft one. But I believe how I am signing into one Microsoft account with two separate consoles might be contributing to this, especially
given that Epic accounts were created after the fact. I’m hopeful that others here will have dealt with this and can offer a solution.

She was the first to log into fortnite on the xbox. When i tried to log my epic account on it from my profile, it just brings up her fortnite account even if im on my profile. We share one xbox with 2 different microsoft accounts and we share the gold
for multiplaying. The only way to log her out is to unlink it from the epic games website. I can play everything else independently, but so far have been unsuccessful on having two fortnite accounts on one xbox, even on two different accounts. I know how the
sharing works, This is Fortnite specific on ONE console.

Hey Vincent,

Were you ever able to create Epic accounts linked to your xbox children accounts? I'm not having the exact same technical issue but I am having the exact same "support" experience you are. Lets just say its truly Epic. In my case I'm only trying link one
nameless account created under an Xbox child account to a new Epic account. I'm able to get all the way to the point where it finds my child's Xbox nameless Fortnite account but after entering all the required information and clicking create I'm simply returned
to the main Epic login screen. Entering the credentials I just created (or thought I did) return an "credentials you are using are invalid" message.

You cannot link each epic account to just one account, they have to be linked to the individual child account for it to work.

All saves save to the cloud, so if you replace a console, the saves will still be there when you log on and play the game on the new one.

Thanks Stuart - I am trying to figure out how to potentially link twi different consoles into each child account, which exists under my one microsoft account (if that makes sense) - the child accounts are family accounts under my sign in, but Epic doesn’t
seem to have anyway for me to specify.
