Fortnite voice chat

So i need help

when i join a party in fortnite i cant hear my teammates through my headset but i can hear them through my tv

its really distracting as i cant turn my tv volume up because it means i can hear my teammates even louder but cant hear game audio

i have an xbox one

please help

It's probably a fortnite issue, the only way to use game chat in fortnite is by going to voice chat in the pause menu and turning it on from there, if that doesn't work you can go to audio settings ingame and disable voice chat then re-enable it. This
has always worked for me but if it doesn't I would report the bug to fortnite.

if you go inti settings once in fortnite there is a option for voice chat, is this set as party chat as the default method or game chat?

One thing that worked for me was if you start an xbox party and then you join a fortnite party and go to the voice chat tab it should give you an option to switch to game chat. Also with the new season I can hear people party chats while in a xbox party

I had this issue yesterday myself, for me I just restarted my xbox and then it was fine. Hope that works for you as well.
