    Fortnite Update Killed Son's Xbox One


    Hey guys. The new fortnite update came out and my son went ahead and updated the game. While he was updating it, he took off to go play since it takes a while. When he came back, all it had was an error message saying "Something went wrong" and now it
    won't do anything. We've tried resetting it, hard resetting it, and unplugging the cords for 10+ minutes. Still get the same issue. Wondering if some files got corrupted or something during the xbox and now the xbox is screwed? Trying to find a way to fix
    it. He said he looked up the error and it has something to do with the blu ray drive or something but the game and stuff is digital. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its on an Xbox One S (White one).

    Hello, what was the error number? Does it give you the option to bootup console and login on the gamertag??

    He factory reset it and turned it on. He started updating the xbox and it froze during the updating phase. Now every time we turn it on, its stuck at verifying 100 percent then goes to error message.

    We try the troubleshooting section and factort reset but every time it turns on it goes to the updating screen, stops at verifying thrn throws this up.

    My son switched off the Xbox one last night to do the restart, can't do anything else, it just won't load up, this has been ever since we did a Fortnite update yesterday, and used it afterwards, I'm fairly sure the update has corrupted our Xbox One, but
    obviously, nobody has reported this to be the case, we are stuck now! :(

    Hi i had the same problem with my sons game it would not load and just boot him back to the home screen. I did the reboot power cycle and it worked. Thank you for the advice one happy son= one happy mom šŸ˜
