Fortnite stuck on ‘exchanging 3rd party access purchases’

Hi, looking for help with a fortnite issue. When I try to load the game it gets stuck on ‘exchanging 3rd party access purchases’ and I’m completely stuck.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, cleared local game data and even reset my Xbox series S but still having the same problem.

I’ve also tried the solution on this community but that’s not helped either.

Epic games support were useless saying that there’s no reported issues and to contact Microsoft.

We have no issues with Fortnite on my sons Nintendo Switch using the same account which suggests it’s a Microsoft issue.

Not sure where to go from here so any help appreciated.

    :)

    Hello Community,

If you are experiencing this issue, can you please try the following steps listed throughout the thread? Below we've listed each suggested solution listed in the order we believe you should follow.

    1. Perform a power cycle on you console:

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.
You can learn more about this here: How to restart or power cycle your Xbox console | Xbox Support

    2. Check your parental settings:

Manage a member’s content in the Xbox Family Settings app | Xbox Support - It is possible that the issue could stem from what content the child is able to access. We recommend checking the settings here to verify that your child has access to the related content. Fortnite is rated T for teen by the ESRB so the account should be allowed to access content for ages 13 and under.

Manage Xbox online safety and privacy settings | Xbox Support - It is possible that online safety and privacy settings can prevent a child account from accessing content. Here you will find tutorials on how to adjust these settings on Xbox or the web. Keep in mind that Fortnite is a cross-platform online title so permissions such as "You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text", "Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites", "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live", "You can join multiplayer games" & "You can add friends" may be essential.

    3. Reset your console to factory defaults:

If you’re ready to reset your console to the factory default settings, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
    3. Select Reset console.
    4. On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:
      • Reset and remove everything. This option resets the console to factory settings. All user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all games and apps will be deleted. Use this option when selling or gifting the console, or as a last resort in some troubleshooting cases.
      • Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It resets the OS and deletes all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps.
      • Cancel. To back out of this screen, simply select the Cancel button. No action has been taken at this point. This is a safe exit from this screen.
After you select one of the options, your Xbox console begins the process of erasing the selected content and resetting itself to the default settings.

You can learn more about this process here: How to reset your Xbox console to factory defaults | Xbox Support

So, seems I was premature in claiming success. It worked for a day then back to square one.

Im really losing my patience with this as my son isn’t able to play fortnite again and this has been going on for weeks now.

Any other suggestions from this community? Thanks
