Fortnite problem with account

Thanks for keeping us updated. There may be additional steps needed to finish/update information regarding the Xbox/Microsoft account for your son. When you went to the link mentioned in the error message, did you sign in with your account or with your son's
account? Have you already tried out power cycling your console?

My son has his own account as do I. We have it set up as a family. Fortnite will load under my account but is showing the error if he tries to open under his account. Fyi, he’s already been playing yesterday and everything was operating as it should, same
time of day. Parental controls are set at default.

there seems to be an issue with the way Fortnite syncs your V-Bucks with your Epic Games account.

Here are a few things you can try to fix the problem:

1. check that your Xbox account and your Epic Games account are linked correctly. To do this, go to the Xbox Live connected accounts page and make sure your Epic Games account is selected in the "Account" tab.

2. Restart your PC and modem. Sometimes a simple reboot can fix connectivity issues.

3. Remove and reinstall Fortnite. This can help reset Fortnite's V-Bucks settings.

If you have tried all of these options and the problem persists, you can contact Fortnite support for help.

If the funds are in the account then there's no problem with the code, that sounds to me like a problem either on Epic's end, have you previously been able to purchase v-bucks/items in Fortnite?
