To answer your questions, I am using Safari on a MacBook Air running macOS Mojave v. 10.14.6. It is not technically up to date as it is capable of running macOS Catalina, but that OS made it much too slow, so I downgraded to Mojave. It is running the most up to date version of Mojave.

Yes, this is the first time I've tried doing cloud gaming on the Mac. Tried it on an iPhone and it seemed to work very well.

OK, my point is that you're on 10.14, which is far behind the current version, and likely the source of your compatibility issues

My suggestion to you would be that whatever makes cloud gaming work properly is sometime between 10.14 that you’re on and 13 that is the current version

The current version is 12, not 13. Apple used macOS X from the early 2000s up until macOS Catalina in 2019. They didn't move forward with 11 and 12 until the 2020 Big Sur redesign.

Thanks for the update. Can be an issue with the outdated OS. But we can try some troubleshooting steps from your side and try to fix this.

First, can you try connecting the controller via USB cable to your MacBook Air? Maybe it gets recognized in that way.

Also, instead of Safari please try using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome and test with and without cable there
