Fortnite game deleted

I bought a new XB1 S all digital version with fortnite game preloaded on console. The kids deleted the game by mistake and I downloaded the game again, however it request a game pass access to play the game which was not the case before where we used to
play without the game pass access. Can someone help me with what to do to play the game again without the game pass access as I can not contact Microsoft for the last 3 weeks.

You don't need gamepass to play the game, it is a free game. Is it asking for you to have gold instead or game pass Ultimate (which includes gold)? If it is, then your gold subscription may have expired, hence why you get the message.

This worked for me. After signing in on x-box highlight Fortnite, press start button (not a) go to manage game add-ons, go to saved data (temp cache), delete. Start Fortnite

Hi,

We had to do a complete reset including deleting games but Fortnite is now working as it should!

It is only these games I have deleted and reinstalled only fortnite and it didn’t work should I try again?
