Fortnite freezing

Hello, My son has not been able to play fortnite for several months now. Everytime he chooses battle royal it will go into the opening scene from the new season then freezes shortly after. We have reset the xbox, uninstalled and reinstalled the
game multiple times. I even bought the game at walmart to see if that was the problem. None of these have worked. Please help. thank you

no but on Fortnite it will freeze, go back to start then freeze when loading. it will also freeze at the home screen.

If i try to get into fortnite it will freeze and i have to turn the xbox off and try to get bavk on but then fortnite wont let me in 😊

Are you using a external hard drive at all that is powered from the console?.
