    Fortnite crossplay issue


    I have both an xbox series x and ps4. My family of 4 would like to play squads on fortnite with split screens on each console. The consoles are connected to the same wifi router. We can play trios with 2 on one console and 1 on the other but when we try
    to add a 4th we get an error on matchmaking which says this wasnt suppose to happen or the llama error in fortnite. The fortnite support couldnt help and port forwarding with the ports listed online wont work since they have common ports. Is there a way
    we can make it work so we can all play together at the same time? Splitscreen, squads and crossplatform.

    The lack of choice to shut off crossplay on the Xbox version of Call of Duty: Warzone needs to be addressed by Microsoft immediately

    Yes but Fortnite is at least crossplay across the board. Warzone is currently optional crossplay on PS4 and mandatory on Xbox One, not a good look.

    Crossplay is only in some games the latest is PUBG, we have fortnite also, but I think we will have more crossplay games.

    Currently only Rocket League and Fortnite allow Crossplay between Xbox and Playstation.

    In fact, with the latest 8.1 update on Fortnite, you are now
    "forced" to play Crossplay according to this source    .

    Also the
    official Fortnite 8.10 Patchnotes     mention:

    "Battle Royale Crossplay Matchmaking

    • Combined Xbox One and PS4 pools.
      • This requires you to opt-in to cross-play.
      • Players opt-ing out are restricted to Creative Mode and Playgrounds."

    So, with these two games, you can now already play with Playstation people.

    Why isn't crossplay optional, as promised ?

    Yes sometimes it is their decision. But other times it is the developers. Fortnite determines its crossplay not xbox.

    If i am not that wrong the only game that may or may not work for crossplay should be fortnite...
