Fortnite Cross Play

My son wanted to play Fortnite on his Xbox so few months ago I set up an account under my name. Well after playing for a little while he wanted his own account so I set that up as a child account. He then wanted to cross play which is not allowed as a
child so I changed his account to public and took restrictions off. After all of that I still can't get the menu to pull up cross play under his account but I can under mine. I am attaching the pictures of the screen. If you notice my account has option
for cross play and his does not. Any suggestions on how to fix would be appreciated.

Your Xbox Live account age will be based from the Date of Birth that you entered when you created your Xbox Live profile online. Once the account reaches the age of 18 years old, it will automatically change to adult.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Gaming on a computer or PC has different advantages than a gaming console and all child accounts have been set up with maximum security to protect our younger customers while they game online.



All Microsoft accounts that are adult accounts should be eligible for cross play. The only accounts that have restrictions are the
Microsoft child accounts. This is not a bug, Microsoft intentionally set up this barrier for many reasons and plan on releasing a solution to change that option soon.

We do not have an estimated time frame on this issue at the moment.
As soon as we find out more information; we will update everyone on the forums about this issue.Keep an eye out for our response as we are diligently working on allowing parent accounts to manage cross platform
play in the parental settings.

 

You shiuld check the setting again in the Epic games setting as they might not have saved and if he has a child accout on the xbox it still might not allow it to work , also check the fourms on Epics site as it might be a known issue

 

I contacted Xbox support and they said even if I change all restrictions it will always be recognized as a child's account. He is out of luck! Thank you for your reply!

We are aware of the issue. It was put in intentionally due to Microsoft wanting the parent account to be allowed to manage the option for cross play or not. Unfortunately, it's taking longer than expected
to add it to the settings for parents to manage. We expect an update on this situation soon.

Brad , i should have asked but are you good with me spreading the word on this , there seems to a alot of posts on the subject and rather than everyone repeating the steps i went through or even sit there fuming that MS isnt disnt doing anything i thougt
id try and keep people clued in
