Fortnite cross platform

Discus and support Fortnite cross platform in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; So it appears that on a child account that has no parental settings applied meaning they can play fortnite with no issue however there is no menu...     Fortnite cross platform


    So it appears that on a child account that has no parental settings applied meaning they can play fortnite with no issue however there is no menu option available for cross platform play. Epic says its Microsoft issue and not theirs I don't understand how.

    Any help or thought would be great.

    MS are aware of the cross platform bug and are working on it, please check the title below for updates, apologies its not clickable as this forum one let me paste cross links to other posts

    BUG - Cross platform play does not enable for child accounts no matter what settings you set. This needs EPIC/MS attention

    cross platform will automatically happen as soon as a PC player joins you.

    In the EPIC game launcher on PC you van add friends. Those friends will appear as online in your game on Xbox.

    From there you can create a cross platform party.

    This is not the case every time there is a message saying that cross platform needs to be enabled. And the option is not available on the child account

    Some titles require an account be an adult account to use certain modes. This is by design and the account would have to wait to be an adult account to use this feature.

    If that's the case, it seems a little silly. Let's let them play the game but let's restrict it so they can't cross platform play. Which is no different then actually playing the game. Is there a way to confirm if that's the case as there is no such specific
    error say that's its been restricted

    Judging by the posts on Epic's forums, that is the case, but Epic has not responded in any way about it.

    Hello Xbox Fans! ヽ(•‿•)ノ

    Sorry for the inconvenience. Gaming on a computer or PC has different advantages than a gaming console and all child accounts have been set up with maximum security to protect our younger customers while they game online.

    All Microsoft accounts that are adult accounts should be eligible for cross play. The only accounts that have restrictions are the Microsoft child accounts. This is not a bug, Microsoft intentionally set up this barrier for many reasons and plan on releasing
    a solution to change that option soon. We do not have an estimated time frame on this issue at the moment. As soon as we find out more information; we will update everyone on the forums about this issue. Keep an eye out for our response as we are diligently
    working on allowing parent accounts to manage cross platform play in the parental settings.

    We will be locking this thread due to it being revived by a new post. If the issue is on going, we recommend creating a new thread. We will be more than happy to answer any questions.
