Fortnite crashes on XBOX Series X - and other known issues

Does anyone have a solution as to why Fortnite sporadically crashes mid-game on XBOX Series X?

I have other issues sometimes like Squad games only showing 3 players in the top left of the Screen HUD instead of the full four people.

    - I have done a hard reset on the Xbox - a full shutdown (holding the power button for 10 seconds) - and this temporarily fixes the HUD issue and the four names are listed correctly in the top left of squads

    - I have uninstalled and cleaned game data from system

However the issue eventually persists again and the game still crashes a few times per week and exits back to the Xbox Home Screen. (This has been going on for the past year)

I know a lot of others are having this issue, but I cannot find any information that Epic is working on this issue or how to fix it?

    Please Help!!

    Thanks

    :)

    Xbox series x fan noise

I have the same issue. Since Fortnite Season two release the Xbox Series X fan is loud. Not in other games. It seems to be a Fortnite issue. I hope this will not damage my console??

Are there any known issues with the Series X and Fortnite?

Hello there @KillaRage, I hope everything is going well!

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I am sorry to know about the game situation, but I want you not to worry about it because I am here to help you out! I believe your console might need either a network reset or just a system refresh. I
would like you to go through the following steps to clear the Mac address and then perform a quick power cycle on your console:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console to check if it's
    installing this time.

Another thing you should check is your NAT type. I would like you to check your NAT type if open because that could sometimes interfere. to check for the NAT type you can follow the steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > NAT type => It should be open.

If the NAT type is not open, you will need to open some ports with your internet provider. These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work: Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) Port 53 (UDP and TCP) Port 80 (TCP) Port 500 (UDP) Port 3544 (UDP) Port 4500
    (UDP).

In case the issue still persists after the previous steps have been performed here is the official link to all the network troubleshooting steps that can help sort this out for you.

The link: Troubleshoot your Xbox One network connection | Xbox Support

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you
to sign in to the account.

I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out! All the best!

    Kind Regards

    Stay safe, and happy gaming!

Fortnite won’t load on Xbox series x

Hi, matt kraiss Hope your Doing well !

If Fortnite on your Xbox Series X is crashing without any error code, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check for Game Updates: Ensure that both Fortnite and your Xbox Series X's system software are up-to-date. Developers often release updates to fix bugs and improve stability.
    2. Clear Cache: Clear the cache on your Xbox Series X by turning it off, unplugging the power cord for about 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in. This can help resolve certain temporary issues.
    3. Check for Corrupted Data: Corrupted game data can cause crashes. Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Storage" > "Games and Apps." Locate Fortnite, highlight it, press the "Menu" button on your controller (three lines), and select "Manage game & add-ons." Delete any saved data or reserved space associated with Fortnite.
    4. Test Other Games: Check if other games are working correctly on your Xbox Series X. If other games are also crashing, the issue might be related to the console itself, and you should try the following steps:
      • Ensure your Xbox Series X is in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
      • Restart the console to clear any temporary glitches.
      • Check for system software updates and install them if available.
      • If the problem persists, you may want to consider contacting Xbox Support for further assistance or potentially exchanging the console if it's still under warranty.
    5. Check Fortnite Server Status: Occasionally, server issues or maintenance on Fortnite's end can cause problems. Check Fortnite's official social media channels or their server status website to see if there are any reported issues.
    6. Contact Epic Games Support: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that the issue is related to the game itself or your account. You can reach out to Epic Games Support for further assistance.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the crashing issue with Fortnite on your Xbox Series X.

should you need to contact Xbox support you can contact support here http://support.xbox.com/contact-us. If you don't see the options to request a call back or chat with support, change your category/topic until you do. Billing & Subscriptions and "I don't recognize a charge" usually works.

Hope this helps, if you need any help don't hesitate to reply below :)

    controller drift

drift is a known issue with PS5 and Xbox Series X

try rebooting your console and see if that corrects it

Xbox is aware and they are working on that and a bunch of other issues for the next console update
