Fortnite access issue for my son's account

My wife and I decided to allow our son to play Fortnite. I had him launch the game and the parental permission pop-up come on. I signed in to my account and gave him the "allow always" permit. He then tried to launch the game and got a "your account
is set up to not allow this type of content" (paraphrased) message. The message directed us to xbox.com settings to fix this. I have upped his age to the threshold (and above) for this game and have changed his settings to allow for this type of game in
the privacy and content sections and he still cannot get into the game. His friend's father remembered running into the same problem but cannot remember how he resolved it. Any idea how I can get him access without having him on my account? I'd rather not
have my son exposed to my friends list.

    :)

    Gold on 360 and One

I'm having some issues at the moment with Fifa 14 and multiple gold accounts on the XB1.

My account with Gold is on the XB1, my son who has XB360 in his bedroom also has gold. But after installing FIFA14 under my profile and then adding my sons XBL gold account, I can access the online part of the game, but my son gets the following message:

"your gamer profile does not have the correct permissions to access this feature"

Should we both have access to FIFA14 online? Or is it restricted to the profile that downloaded it?

Make sure the sttings on the child's account allow for online play:

Change privacy and safety settings for you or a child
    1. Sign in to your Xbox. (If you’re changing the settings for a child, sign in using an adult’s account.)
    2. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.
    3. Select Settings > All Settings. For your account:
      1. Under Privacy & online safety, select Xbox Live privacy.
      2. Choose a default, or customize your settings by selecting View details & customize.
      For a child’s account:
      1. UnderAccount, select Family.
      2. Enter your password or passkey, and then select the account you want to update.
      3. Select Privacy & online safety, and then choose the default settings, or customize by selecting View details & customize.
If it doesnt work after youve done this, try power cycling your xbox to see if the changes take effect.

    Thanks for the response.

The game kept referring me to xbox.com to adjust the settings so I tried your path of instructions instead. I changed him to the teen defaults and I did a hard re-set on the Xbox and we are still getting the "Your settings don't allow this. You cannot
see content other people make because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online safety settings on Xbox.com."

This is the same message we got after I gave him the "allow always" permission and before I changed the settings. I have now updated the settings on both the web site as directed and tried these instructions and I have received the same error message both
    times.

Any further ideas would be greatly appreciated. He wants to get the battle pass and I would rather he do that on his account than on mine.

    Hey Wheels12,

If all of his account settings are set up to allow him to play Fortnite, then maybe removing and re-adding his profile may help update those settings from Xbox Live.

    Follow this
    link
to remove and then re-add his profile. Just make sure you got all the correct account information so you may redownload his profile onto the Xbox.

Let us know if that helps.

    Hi Wheels12!

I'm sorry to hear that's been a hassle. Now as provided above by BaconIsGood53 we need to customize the
privacy and safety settings for the child account. Now I know the change made was to be as Teen, but for Fortnite it works under
    adult defaults or custom settings.

    1. Select Privacy & online safety, and then choose the default settings (adult), or customize by selecting View details & customize.

On here you get to manage the privileges and permissions for the Xbox Live account. The main setting I've been able to see that affects Fortnite is under
    Game Content.

You want to go through each section provided to modify the settings, we want to make sure to allow Broadcasting game play, seeing and sharing content.

    Hope this helps
