fortnight crossplay on childs account

Hi Dave,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are trying to enable settings for Fortnite. We will go over each bug you have listed.

1. To change the setting you need to be on the parent account, access family and choose your sons profile then privacy settings. Will give you template at end for the settings on the Xbox.
2. Once an age is put in, it is unable to be changed on Xbox.com this is a security measure in place so kids don't go changing them. This also covers bug 3.

To enable the cross play you will need to do the following:

1. Log onto the parent account
   
2. Go to family then manage family members
   
3. Select the child profile
   
4. go to privacy and online safety then Xbox live privacy
   
5. then go to view details and customize-communication and multiplayer
   
6. Then select you can play with people outside of Xbox live and select allow
   
7. to allow them to communicate also select "you can communicate outside Xbox live with voice and text

Hi James I'm trying to do that from here:

https://account.microsoft.com/family/ and have selected his account,

But I see Activity, screentime, App and game limits, Content Restrictions, Spending, Find your child. Within those I don't see a detail or multiplayer section.

With each I dont see I don't see anything resembling detail/Crossplay.

Under the content restrictions, I have Any age set for that, it's the only category I see resembling privacy/crossplay.

Would you be able to give me the link or location that you're recommending I do this from? I tried also within the xbox console companion app but didn't see there. I logged into xbox.com but couldn't find a family button within there, they only family
link I found lead back to the above link. I'll retry shortly on the xbox, its just in use @ the moment

Ok, thanks James, the instructions were for the xbox (for those following) I've set everything there to wide open (it mostly was previously), by other gamers are on tonight. I'll be sure to do a fresh login with the child account tonight before starting
& post an update.

ok I tried it and have attached the pictures, I did relogin to the childs account after checking the settings in the first 2 & prior to the fortnite login (and 3rd pic). It didn't work for me, would you have any suggestions?

Hello all,

The setting is now active to change for parents. I just verified it is there myself on the console. When you go to privacy and online safety under custom and communication and multiplayer says you can play
with people outside Xbox live. Due to this is fixed I will be locking this post. There are two setting one for play and another for communication.

Right now the Child accounts are not allowed to play Cross-Platform. They can only play with other Xbox Users. This is something Microsoft is working on but no ETA as to when this will happen.

I'm in the same situation with my Children. It's an inconvenience, but I'm sure Microsoft will figure it out.
