what isw this [Mod removed] with my laptop not being able to read my hard drive after I formatted it for my xbox one this is ridiculous the computer can detect the drive which means the drive can communicate with my pc other wise it
wouldn't be able to be dectected by by computer when I check to see what devices are connected if my pc can tell what the drive is its manufactuer and that it has 2 drives init then it can interperate the drives data and it can still be used by my pc I want
to now why Microsoft is deliberately coding the drives when there formatted by the xbox one not to allow the computer acces to the storage available on the enternal drive my pc can read and interperate the drive but is being told to say that the drive is not
their by deliberate code in the drive itself that winodws encorperates into it once its formatted other wise the drive wouldn't be able t draw power fromk my pc if it couldn't communicate with my computer after being formatted for use on my xbox one.

Hi,

When the Xbox One console formats an external drive it does so for the entire drive. Your PC/ Laptop will no longer be able to access this drive normally because the file system is different.

This is by design to help prevent tampering and piracy. If you no longer wish to use the drive on your console, you can set it up for PC use again in Windows using the Windows Disk management tool. This will wipe the drive however.

Sony also does this with external drives for the PS4.

As I said, there are very good reasons for doing this to external storage.

If you want to use the drive on your PC try to run a quick format on the external drive. If you are on windows 10 just type disk management in the search bar and it should take you to the appropriate spot.

i have also tried that soloution the only one i carnt do is offline update as i dont have a usb stick but i have got a 2tb hardrive wich i was useing on my xbox one some reason my pc wont find it so i carnt even try to format it and try to put the update
offline on that to try

i were about to recommend something else, but noticed i also had a Segate external 2tb, bought it cheap here in norway.

no problems what so ever, feels exactly the same as installed on xbox hd. I`m sure SDD is much better.

however, any external device can be re/formated to NFC i think it is through PC or on xbox.
