Discus and support formating usb fat32 in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; can I format my 32gb Toshiba flash drive with all my saved pictures it.., and use it to save Xbox 360updates.., and how do I format the USB ?     What size is the HDD, also what's the formating of it NTFS or fat32?

    It was actuallly FAT32 too begin with. Should I try formating it as a NFTS or Exfat?

    If you format a drive with photos on it, you will loose all the photos/data on the drive. Yes it can be used to save 360 update to install them on the console.

    Your USB is probably FAT32 formatted wheras your external hard drive is probably NTFS formatted. Xbox 360's can only read files that are FAT32 formatted

    To use a USB flash drive with your console, the USB flash drive must meet these requirements:

    A minimum of 1 GB storage capacity.

    Formatted with the Windows FAT32 file system. Macintosh or Linux formats do not work.

    Note Using a USB flash drive that does not meet the minimum performance requirements might significantly affect the performance of your console.

    Your drive should work as long as it's FAT32 formatted. to format in FAT32 see here- (older guide but should still have relevant steps)
