  2. Is there a way to use an External hard drive for both Xbox One and Pc?

Kinda figured that out. My xbox is not recognizing my hard drive anymore. I formatted it to my computer and then restored it back to factory settings. I would like to format it back to my xbox one. But it doesn't give me the option when I plug it in to my xbox

  3. external hard drive capabilities

My question is with an external hdd can I download and save my game data to it AND put the movies I downloaded from my laptop on the external as well and play them from my Xbox one?

I bought a 2tb recently, formatted it to and put some of my movies on it. Once I plugged it into the Xbox it had to be formatted for the games otherwise I could watch the movies. Now once I format it in my Xbox the movies are erased obviously. Any work around for this?

    Unreadable Disc Error

Figured it out. I had to format my USB on my PC first. Then I formatted it on my xbox 360. My other USV stick I just had to format on the xbox 360.

would hooking it up to my computer and formatting it then to the xbox and formatting it again be good then?

Xbox one won't store games on external hard drive

There is no option on xbox to format it, it only says view files, and I have already formatted it on my PC

Xbox 360 was recognizing Hard Drive, now it isnt showing up?

Come to think of it, Yes I think I did format it on my PC because it wasnt working on the xbox so I thought a format would do the trick. So yes, I did format the xbox hard drive to NTFS using my PC.

Very frustrating external hard drive issues...

Thanks for the fast response. The drive is currently formatted to my PC, and is showing up as NTFS. After I partitioned the drive, and the XBOX One didn't give me the format option, I formatted it on my laptop, and then plugged it back into the XBOX One,
and that's when it gave me the option to format, but booted me to the storage device menu before the formatting was completed. I've tried to format it with no partition at all, just unallocated space, and it would not detect the drive. I tried one primary
partition, and it recognized the drive, but no format option was given. The only way I can get a format option the show up on the XBOX One at all is to have the partition split the drive in two, and then format it on the PC... then it just boots me before
the format is complete. This drive works fine too. I've been using it for 3 months with no issues.
