Forgotten game ownership

About 4-5 years ago I bought the game Shadow Complex from the xbox store. Played maybe half of it. Been waiting for backward compatibility to play it some more, but it never came up. I dusted off my 360 and discovered that my xbox no longer thinks I own
the game. It wants to sell it to me again. Not the first time Microsoft has done this to me. Really tired of it.

Weirdly, Shadow Complex still shows up in my recently played games, Way down there, with a significant percent done. Note the 0.001% you do in the teaser to get you to buy the game.

Do any microsoft support people read here? Or do I have to call them?

WLID recover HELP!

Hey there Slim! If you have completely forgotten the WLID and cannot prove ownership of the account on phone support, then there is unfortunately nothing more we can do. Have you called phone support to try to provide this information?

Game Ownership

That games is not backwards compatible (which would be up to the publisher). So in order to play it on the One you'd either need another game pass subscription or you would have to purchase it for the One.

That explains the mixed bag I've seen in relation to which games play, and which don't. Maybe we're using different interpretations of the term 'backwards compatible,' though. I guess I made the mistake of assuming that the new Xbox
would simply be able to run old games - that the console would simply have the tools to make the previous generation of games work. What you said is that the game is not backwards compatible, it feels to me like what you mean is that the
console isn't backwards compatible, and the publisher didn't want to produce a new version of the game for free.

I guess my level of trust for Microsoft just went down a couple notches. I used to genuinely like your stuff, these days I'd say that there simply aren't other options that I like better.

Make sure you're checking your download history and not the marketplace. Overtime the marketplace can go back to showing you the price instead of showing that it's already been purchased.

If it doesn't show up in your download history, and you're 100% sure you bought it with that account, you would need to contact support directly.

You may access the forum link on a desktop version. There should be an option to attach images.

The video and images do not really count as our proof of ownership because games can be shared through home Xbox. Maybe you have a different account or email address you may have forgotten that was registered to Microsoft and purchased the game there?

If you know both is it wanting you to verify the email address as a valid email?

Or

Have you forgotten the password for the account and when trying to recover the account it wants to verify ownership by sending an email to the email address that was hacked?
