Forgot password for email linked with old Xbox Account

Hi there,

First off i'd like to apologize if I am posting this in the wrong place, this is my first time doing this and at this point I am running out of options

Basically what is happening is around the time I first used my Xbox, which I would say is around 5-6 years ago, I used a relatives email as the email linked with the account. Now the problem with this is my relative has not used this email in years, and
has forgotten the password and the security info they put for the account recovery.

Around the end of 2013 is when I stopped playing on my Xbox, and as of recently I wanted to use it again. I cannot connect to live with the account because neither I or the relative can remember the password, or info they put as a backup. I am using an ALT
profile to post this which is linked with my personal email, which isn't the email I used for my Xbox account.

The most I can provide is information about the relative, the email they used, my Xbox information and my gamer tag.

If anyone can help me it would be extremely appreciated, and if you would like more info feel free to contact me and I can try to provide the info you need.

Xbox Live Account password

I forgot the password for the windows live Id associated with my xbox live account. how do i get it if I have not linked any other emails with the email account i am trying to gain access to.

I logged into my xbox this morning and my xbox has asked for my email and password, thaught i knew my email, but my email didnt work i have forgoten my email linked to my account is there any way i can find out my email linked to my account, think problem

Thank you for the help ArfElaS 3512, but unfortunately I've already tried that method. The problem is that it's been so long since the Microsoft account was used that the only info we can really give to recover is basic info. Recent emails or anything like
that we don't have a clue because it's been so long.

I know this is a pretty awkward position to be in, but I want to be able to have my Xbox profile linked with my personal email, not my relatives.

I don't suppose there is anything else I can to? Maybe receive a phone call or email from them?

 

The only option left would be calling support, if you received a negative answer to the form online, then with some info from the negative answer and the console where the profile was being used, they can escalate the issue to another department for some
verification

I've decided that instead of trying to get into my old account, i'll just make a new one. I'll probably use the one i'm using right now. The Xbox account is pretty old anyways, so making a new one would probably be a better option.

This has been said, but if you still have the Xbox where the profile in question was last used, I would strongly advise contacting Xbox support. They will be able to help you (they will help you find the necessary information from your console and from the
recovery form - it's simple and will take maybe 10 minutes at most) and afterwards, you will be able to transfer the gamertag to another Microsoft Account if that's what you wish.
