Forgot Log-in information for my profile on xbox live

Hello!

So, pretty simple question (or is it? ). I'm trying to log into Xbox live on my 360. It tells me the account information i entered is wrong (wrong password or account name). So, i went to reset my password. Got the code, yadayada, change complete. Entered
my MS account on my computer, worked just fine. Went to Xbox Live, same problem. Tried again, same process, nothing. I can enter my MS account on the PC, but i cant connect with my profile to Xbox Live. I usually played offline. So all my game progress was
done in offline. A funny thing: When i go to log in to my MS account on the computer, my profile name isn't actually the one on my Xbox, but under friends, i have the gamertag of the profile i want to log in to on my xbox (does that make sense???). I never
played online, since i never had gold. I only went online to see if there's some updates. I am trying to get Gold though. But, starting all over, since i can't sign in with my old profile....pfff, all that work ... On a side note, i created a new profile
and that profile worked fine, could log in and everything.

I had this problem once before, but the password reset worked fine then... not anymore. I am seriously confused. My xbox was resting for a while, only recently decided to start it up again.

Help me please! i can't log in to xbox live!

It when i turn on my xbox it logs me account in right away but when turned on my xbox it didn't log me in and when i tried to log in it said "Your Xbox LIVE membership information isn't valid. Please use a profile that contains a vaild membership or recover
your profile from Xbox LIVE". I have xbox live on my account but it doesn't let me sign in! and what does it mean that i need to recover my profile from xbox LIVE?

Hey there, the way you have presented this issue is indeed very confusing.

So are you saying that the account isn't logging on to the Xbox, but you can still log-in to the email through Outlook? What happens when you log-in to xbox.com? Is it bringing up the gamertag you want to see?

If you above is the case and as you say, never play online, you might need to update your security proofs or check if you have two-step verification and an app password for your Xbox.

Also when you explain the 'funny thing' if the correct gamertag is not displaying on the xbox website or console then you most certainly are using the wrong details to sign-in. If you contact Xbox phone support and prove you own the gamertag through other
information on the account (which might be hard if you've never made purchases etc.) Though, give it a go:
