When starting a game from the xbox app it doesn't work when it's in the foreground (freeze), but it works if I tab to another tab (background) but I can't play.

I think it's a windows 11 problem because it works on all other platforms (steam, battle.net, ubisoft, origin...) even installing a game in the xbox app for example Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege when opening it as it opens in ubisoft does not freeze. And i can't go back to W10. does anyone have the same thing?

    :)

I understand. I'm sorry this first troubleshooting step did not work.

Since the issue started as soon as you migrated to Windows 11, let's try to use the System File Checker and DISM to repair broken, corrupted or missing system files:

Go to Start > Search for Command Prompt > Right Click > Run as Administrator. Run one command at a time:

    sfc /scannow

    chkdsk /r

    chkdsk /f

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

See how it goes and please let me know.

This has been happening to me for at least 1 month, and before when I had w10 4 months ago all the games I had in the xbox app worked perfectly for me

Also, please try to run your games in Administrator mode:

"Find the game launcher/executable file > Right click > Properties > Choose compatibility options > Check "Run this program in administrator mode".

Try to reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ programs. Download a fresh copy of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime from here and then install it:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/cpp/windows/latest-s...

Make sure you download the correct version of it (x86 or x64). Restart your computer after the installation.

Also, please download and install the .NET Framework Runtime:

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=2085155

Also restart your computer after the installation.

The last recommended download is the DirectX Runtime:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/detail...

Restart your computer and try to run your games again. Let me know how it goes.

I understand. Thanks for sharing this information.

I would recommend you to try to uninstall one of the games and use it as a test for now. Please follow the steps below:

First, see if Windows is updated:

Open Settings > Update and security > Windows Update > Check for updates. Install any optional update too.

    After that:

    - Completely uninstall Xbox App (and Xbox Companion App if you have it). Use their own uninstaller (just search for Xbox on Windows start and click on uninstall).

    - After uninstalling, go to start > Type PowerShell > Right click it and select “Run as administrator” > Type the following commands and press enter (run one at a time):

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.GamingServices | Remove-AppxPackage –allusers

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

(If you receive an error when executing any of these commands, don't worry. Just follow the other steps)

    - Press Windows + R and type in "regedit". Press enter.

    - Search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services

    - Delete the folders "GamingServices" and "GamingServices.net" (if they're still there).

    - Click on Start > Search for Credential manager > Windows credentials. Search for Xbl|DeviceKey, click on it and then Remove. Also, remove all the XblGrts and XboxLive credentials.

    - Delete Accounts and Cache folders at:

    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\TokenBroker

    - Also delete Microsoft Store local cache files at:

    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Gaming > Game Mode > Set if OFF.

    - Press Windows + R. Type TEMP and press enter. Delete all the files inside this folder. Repeat this step by typing %TEMP% and Prefetch. Delete everything on both folders too.

    - Press Windows + R. Type WSRESET and press enter.

    - If you're using a proxy, please stop using it for now:

    - Press Windows Key + R. Type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box. Click Ok.

    - Please check if Date and Time is set correct. Uncheck "Set the time automatically", do it manually.

    - Restart Windows.

    - Run PowerShell as an Administrator again and run the command:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    - Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Make sure you are signed into the Microsoft Store with the same Microsoft account that is on your computer.

    - Finally, install Xbox App (and Xbox Companion App if you had it) again. Open it and login to the correct Microsoft account. If you are on the Xbox Insiders program, click on Profile > Settings > General > Uncheck “Use advanced installation and management features”. Restart you computer if the option above was selected.

    - Install the game we uninstalled on the first step and see how it goes. Let me know about the results, please.
