Forced Name Change? No new option for me to choose new name..

After having my gamertag (DoYouWantToFunk) a popular Electro song from Sylvester during the 80's its been reported as offensive and has now been forcibly changed to something that I did not have a choice in choosing - this name being .

I'd like to request I'm given the option to change my name to something of my choosing. Although I can understand the name DoYouWantToFunk could be misinterpreted for something different beginning with F. I don't understand why after 3 years this decision
has now only just been made.

If you'd like to choose a new gamertag, you'll have to pay $9.99 no matter what.

If a Forced Name Change is issued, you'll be given a random name.

Since your name is in violation of the Terms of Use/Code of Conduct, a Forced Name Change can be issued. However, you will not be allowed to choose the name it changes to. It will be random. No matter what you have to pay the $9.99 to choose your new name.

You see you aren't actually allowed to use quotes from famous songs actually as it is a copyright violation

You should feel lucky the artist didn't go after you and yes copyright violations are frowned upon however you will have to post in the account suspension forums for the official answer

As per the terms of use you are issued a random gamertag and for violation the terms of use you aren't given a free gamertag

Each violation will cost you live life and play fair

 

You can change your gamertag whenever you want by following the instructions here

You will have to pay to change it.

You do not get a choice of what gamertag you are given when issued a forced name change.

It does not matter how long you had the gamertag,it was only now just reported & deemed inapropiate.
