Forced Gamertag switch.

I made a post yesterday but you guys misread. I Know that my gamerrtag was against the rules of conduct for sexual content and they assigned me a random gamertag. BUT i am suppose to be able to chose a new gamer tag for FREE. However, when i try to get
a new gamertag, They CHARGE me. talked to customer service rep and he said to post it on here because it should be free.

Switching gamertags help

Okay the way this is worded is a little confusing. And I'm pretty sure you'll be forced to change your gamertag now because of what it is.

Either way, you can't just switch gamertags. You can change it by paying or being forced to change it for breaking rules but you can't switch things over.

If you mean you need to switch out emails, that should be easy if you can verify. You may have to speak with billing if you still can't change the email attached.

Ok, a forced gamertag change would change only the tag and not the contents. It's possible that you may have accidentally created a new gamertag overtop of the existing one. Try creating a dummy email address to attach to the tag you're posting with to
see if that frees up the other.

You've had a free name change.It was changed from the offending gamertag to the one you have now for free.

If you want to change it again then you will have to pay.

The rules concerning forced name changes were changed a while ago & you no longer get to choose your gamertag for free if you are issued a fnc.

 

I didnt chose quietkitten however. The customer service rep said i would be able to pick the new gamertag

The rep you spoke to was mistaken. There are no free name changes when you get a forced name change anymore. If you want to change it, you will have to pay.
