Forced Gamertag Change Request

I spoke to Zie about my issue and they said that all the information could be found here: 1248103337. The whole conversation was pretty much me telling them how my friend had logged into MY account while I was spending the night at his house (I was sleeping),
used my MOTHER'S credit card (that was saved on the Xbox), and changed my gamertag to something extremely inappropriate. I'm not sure if I can post the name of the gamertag here so i'm not going to. My main problem now is that Xbox generated me a new gamertag
that is very childish and I now get harassed by not only my friends but most of the Xbox Community when I play online. I dont have the money to re-change the gamertag and my mother is definitely not going to let me use more money that my friend basically stole
off of her credit card.

You have no way of knowing if you've been reported or not.

In this case you probably have because your last gamertag was against the code of conduct & you have been issued a forced name change,it has nothing to do with your email address being similar to your gamertag.

If you want to change your gamertag again then you will have to pay,you will not get it changed for free.

If you want to know the exact reason it was changed then you would have to post here forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx

In future please start your own thread if you have a problem.

You need to post here forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx about having a forced name change.

You were notified,it was in the terms & conditions you agreed to when you started your account.

Also please do not post personal info like your email address on the forums.

 

First reference numbers are not to be posted in the forums they are ONLY to be used when contacting support over the phone and I THINK chat/twitter. second your account is your responsibility at ALL times. so sorry you will have to pay to have your name
changed to something else. if you do not have they money get it from your 'friend' that changed it originally sorry.

 

Since your friend is the one who changed it, you should get the money from him to change your tag. There is no way to get a free change, so you will have to pay to change your tag.

Also, reference numbers are only used by phone and chat support and should not be posted on the forums.

 

I thought that if you got reported you would get a free name change?

No. It doesn't work like that. You can be reported a million times, but you will only get a forced name change if your gamertag violates the code of conduct. Since yours no longer does, it would not be given a forced change.

 

It did originally and I never got to change my name! My gamertag right now is the one Xbox generated for me! This is very unfair... I had no part in all of this and you want me to go spend another $10 to change my name when my friend changed it to something
inappropriate and then when I re-logged on it said i had to re-download my profile and when I did it was changed to what is is now? I never got the message that says "Gamertag Change Required" at any point in time...

 

The policy on forced name changes has changed. When you are given a forced change you are now given a randomly generated tag. You are not given a free change. You have to pay to change the name to something else.

 

that is because it no longer does that in the past if a tag was against the rules you would have to change it before you could sign into the service. too many people abused that by creating names just as bad. now they just auto generate a tag that will
have to be changed to something else by the user of that account. I know it is unfair but that is what it is, if you want to change that tag you will have to pay end of discussion.

 

Really? This is extremely unfair. I don't understand how YOU can't be the least sympathetic to my situation.

Basically what you're telling me is that I can't have a forced name change because my name isn't offensive. It WAS offensive until Xbox automatically generated me a new one. So now it isn't offensive and I can't change my name... Does that make ANY sense
at all? It was offensive, then I had less than an hour or two until my name was automatically changed to what it is now, so now it isn't offensive.

I pretty much paid the $10 for a name change, just not one that I chose. What happened here is I payed $10 for Xbox to give me a childish gamertag that I am now being harassed for having. This is very unprofessional.

 

Even if they gave you another forced name change, it would just be another randomly generated tag. You would still have to pay to change it to something you want.

 

I have the answer to your question. You need to go to the Xbox Live Enforcement Appeal Thread/Forum. They are the appropriate people you need to speak to.

 

The enforcement team are only there to explain why a forced change/suspension/etc. was given. They OP already knows why it was changed.

 

There is no appeal forum,not sure where you got that from.
