Forced gamer tag name change

Hello!

So a couple days ago I received an email from the enforcement team that I violated a code of conduct. Upon further inspection I found out it was from my gamer tag that I have had since last summer. I accept that it could disrupt some people in the Xbox community
and understand I can no longer have my previous gamer tag. I asked if I could do a complimentary name change so I do not have the randomly generated name they gave me. It does not feel right to have it as a name. My case review was upheld and they mentioned
that I could not have a complimentary name change as they used to do it but people would abuse this privilege and change their names to another one that broke their code of conduct. I understand their reasoning behind this but I didn’t have the chance to inform
them what I would change it to. I have been an Xbox live member for 9 years and this is my first offence. I contacted support multiple times and they were extremely helpful (Loremer and France) but they do not posses the tools to help with a name change. I
greatly appreciate their help and anyone else that has feedback for my situation.

Sorry, but support gave you incorrect information. Per the code of conduct, which you agreed to, if your name violates the code, the enforcement team will issue a randomly generated tag and you will have to pay to change it to something else. It is not possible
to get a free change.

If the enforcement team upheld their decision, then there is nothing else you can do. There's no reason to inform them of what you would change the name to. All you can do is change the tag if you want to and you will have to pay if you want to change it.
This is per the code of conduct that you agreed to.

 

When you get a forced name change due to your gamertag violating the terms of service/code of conduct you dont get to choose what the new gamertag is. That is why they didnt ask you, because you dont get to choose.

As you have experienced you are automatically given a random name. (this is how it works now)

Any further name changes have to be paid for. There are no exceptions to that policy
