Forced gamer tag change

Today my original gamer tag was forcefully changed due to, what I am assuming, a complaint made by another user who saw my gamer tag and not necessarily seemed it as inappropriate but was childish "revenge" and flagged my gamer tag out of spite. I have
had that gamer tag for years when I originally created the gamer tag it was approved by xbox. I even have had people tell me that the original gamer tag was funny but never offensive. The original gamer tag did not contain, sound, or look like profane words
or phrases, it did not pertain to anything sexual, it did not promote hate or illegal activities of any kind, and had no religious connotation.

I play fighting games, and when people loose they sometimes become what is called salty. I played against what I would call an inexperienced player who lost to simple projectiles. I will not reveal that user's full gamer tag but it is very similar to what
my gamer tag is now, my gamer tag is now itchyfoal followed by random numbers I played KindCalf, followed by random numbers within 24 hours of my forced gamer tag change. The user sent messages containing vulgar language after the match. I replied with a
common fighting game phrase "hold that" KindCalf then replied with another vulgar message which I replied somewhere along the lines "you can block those" referring to the projectiles. Again that user responded with another vulgar message. Due to the similarities
of itchyfoal and kindcalf I believe that kindcalf is a result of a forced gamer tag change. So now whenever kindcalf looses they think they can flag gamer tags in hopes of causing a forced change. I do not believe that I broke any rules of conduct relating
to my original gamer tag and wish to change it without having to pay the $9.99. When I spoke to xbox tech support I was told that I will not be able to get my old gamer tag back which I am okay with I just do not want to have the gamer tag itchyfoal.

I am being forced to change my gamer tag; (YuriFetish). I would like to know if there is any way i could prevent that from happening. Nobody i have talked to about it found it to be offensive and i would like to keep it. Sombody, please

Sorry but if your tag was changed by the PET then there must have been something about it that went against the ToU and CoC of the Live service. They do investigate any complaint that comes through.

Also, please do not name and shame on the forums. It is also against the forum rules to do this.

My intention was not to name and shame the user that is why I did not include the full gamer tag. Thank you for the follow up I will take my questioning to the suspension forums.

 

Complaints don't automatically result in action being taken against an account. The enforcement team investigate all complaints and determine if violations have occurred. Without knowing what your gamertag was, we can only assume that it was indeed found
inappropriate by the enforcement team and that is why you have received a forced gamertag change. You will have to pay to change it to something else and be warned that if you continue to use a name similar to the one that was found offensive you risk getting
a permanent ban.

 

Thank you for the replies, my intention with my original gamer tag was never meant to be offensive but just trying to be funny. Am I allowed to post my original gamer tag on this forum? I did not want to put my original gamer tag in my original post since
it was deemed offensive as gamer tag and did not want to break any of the forum rules.

 

The best you can do is to post it in the thread you make in the suspensions forums.

 

thanks onyx, I am just going to accept defeat and change the username that was randomly assigned to me. It sucks since I am known on other forums as my old xbox live gamer tag but no biggie. Again thank you for the responses and your time.
