Forced gamer tag change

Last night I recieved an email stating my gamer tag is inapropriate, even though its 3 yrs old and i never play online anyway. My xbox wasnt on for a year and ive only just got the internet back on. Its been changed and now its trying to charge me to change
it to something i want, shouldnt we be given the option to change once for free if the 'team' think its inapropriate? Or how can i change it to something 'suitable' for free?

Forced Gamer tag change

I am being forced to change my gamer tag; (YuriFetish). I would like to know if there is any way i could prevent that from happening. Nobody i have talked to about it found it to be offensive and i would like to keep it. Sombody, please
respond to this. Thank you.

You are stuck with the new one until you can pay the 9.99 fee. It does not matter how long you had the Gamertag in question - when they got around to it after being reported they changed it.

At one time they would issue a Forced Gamertag change - they ended this when people would just create yet another inappropriate Gamertag. Now you get a random generated one.

The team should just review the new tag before authorisation, then no one can use an inappropriate tag again. Being charged is just out of order, especially as we pay for xbox live anyway.

There is a filter in place - people get around by simply stringing the words to together or creating slang versions that read the same.

I'm going to assume that what is going on is that you were issued a forced gamer tag change since the gamer tag may be deemed offensive. A forced gamer tag change can result in not being able to post on the forums until that gamer tag is changed.

the free gamer tag change was only allowed when your gamer tag change was forced. People abused this by reporting gamer tags that people wanted to change so once a force change was made they then changed it again to what they wanted for free. Because
of that abuse of the system all game tag changes now cost even if a force change has happened.

As Smwutches stated it was a forced gamer tag change. Someone found that your gamer tag was inappropriate and reported it. With a forced gamer tag change there is no case review. Remember when choosing a gamer tag that millions of people can see this from
kids to adults if you think the gamer tag you use is fine, someone else may find it offensive or inappropriate. They need to follow the

code of conduct.

The rules also state you can't have anything that refers to or insinuates sexual themes. In your case the word "pimpin" is a nod to prostitution.
