    I want to know because the change has been forced of gamestag without having broken any norm. It does not seem to me just after credit paid for the change of gamestag me change it into the random one.

    You can try submitting a case review at
    http://enforcement.xbox.com     but if their decision is upheld, you will have to pay to change your tag.

    i am new to xbox. my name .. "girthy teen boy" was changed. I had no idea i would have to pay 8 pound for it to be changed to something deemed more appropriate. as people have mentioned in these forums, many gamer tags contain drug, sexual and inappropriate
    references. Mine was simply harmless fun and personally believe it is unfair for me to have to pay 8 pound for a harmless name when i am new.

    Forced change of gamestag

    If you create an offensive or inappropriate gtag, it will be replaced with a new automatically-generated gtag.

    To change your gtag after that you will have to pay the fee as everyone else.

    It seems the issue has been fixed. I have just recovered my gamestag successfully - I am now able to access xbox live again! :)

    Was this a Forced Name Change or did you change it voluntarily? There seems to be an issue with the forced changes at this time.

    Even with a forced change, you'd have to pay to change it. This wouldn't have been a forced gamertag change though.
