    Hello,

    I recently purchased a Xbox one elite controller, and the X box Wireless Adapter. I have several Xbox 360 controllers as well, with an older wireless adapter to connect those to me PC.

    I am looking to play local multiplayer games with friends, and I can connect my Elite via wireless and the 360 controllers via wireless at the same time. BUT, no matter what order I connect them in, the Elite controller is always forced to be the last player.

    For example. I turn on the Elite, it is assigned as player 1. As soon as I turn on a 360 controller, that now becomes player one, and the Elite is changed to player 2. Turn on another 360 contolller, and then that becomes player 2 and the Elite is pushed
    to player 3.

    I want to keep the Elite as player 1! I looked all through these forums (15 pages deep so far) and searched elsewhere, poked around in my various control panel areas and I cannot find any way to do this. Surely this is something simple to fix?

    Xbox 360 controller - Bring it back!

    I prefer the XB1 controller over the 360. Once I got my XB1, I noticed a big difference between the 2. The 360 controller was good, but the XB1 controller is more natural feeling to me.

    Are you getting this as a recurring problem or do you mean that you turned your controller on while the force feedback wheel was assigned to 1?

    If you simply mean you turned your controller on while the force feedback wheel was also on the only way to get the controller back to player 1 is to turn off your console, no wires need to be removed. Once a controller has been assigned a player number,
    it keeps it until the console is powered off.

    Okay. Here's a list of what I did to try and trouble-shoot the issue.

    1 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 controllers show Player 1. Unplugged each controller individually at the in-line release/breakaway
    connector and reconnected. No change. Each still shows Player 1.

    2 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 1 Microsoft brand wireless controller into USB port on front (I know it's a wireless controller but this one is used and the rechargeable battery is completely dead and won't hold a charge.). Plugged in
    3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 regular wired controllers show Player 1. Wireless controller that's plugged into a USB port shows as Player 2.

    Did anyone at Microsoft actually test the controller with human subjects?

    The XB1 controller is perfect for me. Didn't think they could improve the 360 controller, but they have.

    360 Thumb Sticks on Xbox One Controller

    The only part of the XB1 controller I would swap out for the 360 is the Right & Left Bumpers. I just feel like it was easier to click them on 360. Other than that everything is far better on XB1 controller.
