Force quitting games before shutting down console?

Just wondering and probably a silly question, but does the Xbox One quit games itself before a full shutdown? Or is it better to force quit a game manually before shutting down the console?

I have an Xbox one x and always use energy saving as my shut down option as I rarely have time to game anymore due to work/family. So I don't always manually shut down the game before shutting the console off completely. Is that safe?

I'm pretty sure the console would quit the game before shutting down whilst in energy saving mode, I've simply turned my Xbox One X off due to rage a few times, and when I turned it back on (from energy saving) I had to launch the game, not resume, launch
again to play.

It's always best to save your game progress, and go back to a main menu before quitting a game, just to be sure that your progress is saved, I haven't heard of any games becoming corrupt due to not force quitting them.

I usually go home and close the game and then turn off the console

I almost always force quit it makes for a better run the next time round and allows your DL speeds to be higher

If using all ways on mode then it when force quie the games as when you turn the console back on you can carry on where you left off

I should also add that a friend mentioned that not force quitting games would corrupt the game.. Wasn't sure if that was true.
