I use a SDTV with it because it is using a composite cable & it looks horrible on an HDTV.

Suggestions for those with out a HDTV

For those who are playing their XBOX 360 on a Standard TV Set, who also happen to have a Desk Top PC may wish to do the following. Because anyone who has had to play on a SDTV knows that doing so really affects the quality & look of the game. Case
in point, before I bought my current 55" Panasonic 3D Plasma, and before I had a HDTV at all (First HDTV was a 42" Vizio) I was only able to game on a 32" SDTV... While it allowed me to play my games, and I had no issues with it for some time, that changed
when I bought Dead Rising. Upon playing the game, I was sad to find that a lot of the written text was unreadable on the SDTV. This was an issue I had to deal with for some time. Then one day I discovered that there is a VGA Cable that you can buy & use to
connect your console to a PC monitor. So of course I went out and bought the cable right away. Upon connecting my system through the VGA cable to my kinda small (15" 1080p monitor at the time) I was AMAZED at the difference between SDTV & HDTV/PC Monitors.
The unreadable text from Dead Rising was no longer an issue, in fact the game looked like a brand new title I had never played before. The text was readable, the picture was amazing, and over all I was very happy. So much so that I was more willing to play
on a small 15" screen rather then a 32" SDTV. Yes, the picture was smaller, but that was a very small price to pay for the vast difference in looks. So, for those who are still playing on a SDTV, if you happen to have a PC Monitor, go out and look for this
product... XBOX 360 VGA HD/AV cable. Also, if you happen to have a 360 Slim and a PC monitor with a HDMI port, you can also get a HDMI cable, and use that. However, with either cable you can connect your system to a PC monitor, and start playing your games
in all their HD Glory!!! The price for a VGA type cable varies between $39.99 New to $9.99 used. I would suggest this to my friends, family, or anyone else who is gaming with a SDTV who have access to a PC monitor. You will not be let down. Hope this helps
someone looking to see their games in HD rather then continue to play in SD... Take care my fellow gamers, and hope this can help even one person have a better XBOX 360 Experience.

Playing on a SDTV? Look here.

If you are one of those few who both

    1. Don't have an HDTV

    and

    2. Wanted to play Minecraft in Splitscreen

You might be eligible for a refund.

If you purchased the game before the 11th of this month and you have a SDTV then contact customer support
Xbox One Support | Xbox 360 Support | Xbox Live and Billing Support

A warning to those without SDTVs, if you get a refund and continue to play Minecraft, then there is a chance that they will consider this as Marketplace theft and can ban your account.

This is merely for those who are upset with the lack of Splitscreen compatibility and no longer wish to play the game.

On my original Xbox and my ps2, I had standard def for both. High Definition just wasnt necessary. I played GTA San Andreas on my original Xbox, shortly before GTA V came out and HD didnt help it any. The only reason that it was even playable was because
the story in San Andreas was so good. IMO, until GTA V, San Andreas was the best GTA ever. I no longer have any standard definition TV's but if I did, that is what I would use to play original Xbox

    Hello,

I use my SDTV for my original Xbox and PS2. I don't really have any specific reason other than using a composite cable and I just didn't get around to hooking them up to my HDTV.

I guess after hearing that it looks "horrible", I'll just leave them hooked up to my SDTV.

Hello "SaviorMoney" For those of you that still play the Original Xbox, do you use a SDTV or HDTV? :)

Have you tried using a Component Cable for your Original Xbox? I have heard a lot of good things about it For those of you that still play the Original Xbox, do you use a SDTV or HDTV? :)

Hello "RedFathom" For those of you that still play the Original Xbox, do you use a SDTV or HDTV? :)

A Composite Cable connection on a SDTV doesn't show all of the pixelation because it doesn't have the capability to do so. However, a HDTV is more than happy to dispaly those pixels to you. That is why unless you're connected with a Component Cable; it
is better to keep those imperfections hidden For those of you that still play the Original Xbox, do you use a SDTV or HDTV? :)

    Tiny, tiny text

It is because the game is meant to be played on an HDTV, not an SDTV. Unfortunately, a lot of developers are doing this nowadays.

To keep or trade in, that is the question LOL :)

    Hello "Auswolf7" :)

My Original Xbox is also set-up too, but it is hooked up to a 20 inch SDTV because I am using composite cables for it & it looks really ugly on my 40 inch HDTV due to all of the "jaggies" (which can't be seen on the 20 inch SDTV).

My Xbox 360 is hooked up via a HDMI on my 40 inch HDTV :)

Have a nice day or afternoon or night :)
