For this game you need to be online?

Hello there. I am having issues playing games on my Xbox one X. It has done this a few times, but today is the worst. I just downloaded the latest Fortnite patch, and when I go to play the game, I get an error that says "for this game you need to
be online"... From the dashboard, I am obviously connected to xbox live, as I can see all of my friends that are online, and I also just downloaded the latest patch at over 75MBPS. It's not the patch causing the issue, as I have had this issue before I downloaded
the patch.

I also have issues with how quickly people that I play with hear me over voice coms. I can give a callout, and they do not hear me for close to 2 seconds.

I am hardwired, on cable internet with a static IP applied to my Xbox, and all relevant ports forwarded. I have swapped between both Google DNS servers to no avail.

Pathpings and traceroutes are all successful, and show now latency or dropped packets.

I am really stumped as to what could be going on here.. The only thing I have not tried yet, is going back to using ISP DNS, but I have never used it in the past. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Whenever I try to start any game it says

For this game you need to be online. Set this to my home xbox and the code (0x803f9008).

I am connected to xbox live and the connection is solid. I let my friend set my profile to his home xbox almost 3 years ago. I haven't had this issue the whole time while I was online. I just got the one x and it was fine until my friend tried to sign into
my profile a couple days ago. He kept getting the password wrong and said chose he forgot the password. He didn't go any further but now I can't play games with the profile I bought them all on and I'm connected to live. I can go on the store and watch Hulu
and netflix.

If anyone has thus issue or know how to fix it without setting my profile as my home it would be appreciated.

Its a free trial trials do not come with all features if you want full gold features you must pay like everyone else

You are restricted to what trial users can normally use thats it

 

I just hard restarted my xbox by powering it off and then unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds. I have wiped the cache, and now I am getting an error that I have gotten before that says "The person who bought this needs to sign in" "sign in with the
progile used for purchase, or buy a copy from the Microsoft Store. (0x803f9006)" However, I am logged in, and can see online friends etc...

If this is how a $500 piece of technology is going to work, I am going to simply take it back and get a refund. I have no problems going to PC and playing.

If you don't mind me asking. Where are you located? I have a ton of friends online and in Fortnite, but I can't get in.. I wonder if its a regional issue? I'm in Missouri

 

it seems to be working now. Give it another shot.

 

Just rebooted Modem/router again, and restarted Xbox again.. No luck @xXMudButtXx83

 

Just checked, and every game I try to launch gives me the "you need to be online" error message. GRR Soo frustrating.

 

Any Microsoft support at there?

Look's like there was a recent service alert for the Xbox Live services that may be causing this to happen. Let's go ahead and try a fresh start and unplug the console for a full 5 minutes then check again if the same error message shows up for you. Let
us know what happens after trying that step please.

 

Back home and it is working now..
