    Help, this morning when I try to play games I'm getting the aforementioned error message wheneve I try to load a game (0x803f9008). However, I am online. Friends list, party, YouTube all work as normal but I can't play anything.
    I cannot even report a problem because that also brings up the error message.



    I've tried going offline and online again, and I've tried restarting the console.

    Just checked, and every game I try to launch gives me the "you need to be online" error message. GRR Soo frustrating.

    Hello Travis, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the console.

    I was having a similar issue for the longest time. It too was an internet problem. I was wireless but was too close to the modem so it was affecting my connection. If you were using an ethernet for your console then using a different one or follow the instructions at this link https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne... to set up port forwarding to your console.

    Look's like there was a recent service alert for the Xbox Live services that may be causing this to happen. Let's go ahead and try a fresh start and unplug the console for a full 5 minutes then check again if the same error message shows up for you. Let
    us know what happens after trying that step please.

    it has to be an xbox thing because I'm having the same issue
    If you don't mind me asking. Where are you located? I have a ton of friends online and in Fortnite, but I can't get in.. I wonder if its a regional issue? I'm in Missouri
