Hi Everyone, I need assistance with this error:

“For this game, you need to be online” on my Xbox One S console.

I get this error when trying To play games, but my Xbox can play YouTube videos fine (no issues).

I am subscribed Game Pass Ultimate. I have tried to restart my Xbox, sign in as guest, use manual DNS settings, no luck.

When running NAT and Speed tests, I can confirm that the Xbox has internet connection.

I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

Please try to test connecting your console to another network and check if the same problem occurs, you could configure your smartphone as a Mobile Hotspot and connect your console to that network.

Just checked, and every game I try to launch gives me the "you need to be online" error message. GRR Soo frustrating.

Hello Travis, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the console.

I was having a similar issue for the longest time. It too was an internet problem. I was wireless but was too close to the modem so it was affecting my connection. If you were using an ethernet for your console then using a different one or follow the instructions at this link https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne... to set up port forwarding to your console.
