For the love of all...

Can someone please fix these ridiculously error-riddled forums? I don't know what's worse, the long nap-inducing lag or the endless "contact your administrator" errors.

Trig, sure they could. Have they said they would? Do you really believe they would after just benefiting gloriously by watching Microsoft shoot itself in the foot doing the same thing?

Do you really think those of us who were happy with the old policy really thought we were the majority? One look at the threads would have told you otherwise! Lol.. All I'm saying is that having lost those initial people.. They should have stuck like glue
to the ones they had left.. Cos if MS thinks that the Mob will now reward them back them for their weakness..They're in for a shock!

I have always been genuinely sorry for the ones who wouldn't have been able to make that journey.. And if they now can.. I'm totally stoked for them. The only people I ever took up against was those who threatened to hack the company and ruin things for
others.. Or people who were just blatantly Trolling.

The difference, I've said my piece on that announcement and that's it.

That's not to say that I'm not disappointed.. As there were some games that i was potentially looking forward to.. But like you say..that's business and even though I think they're wrong.. I accept that.

. So I'm not bitter or butt hurt for that matter .. I've had a great 8 years or so with MS and now its time to move on to something else.

I'm sure that there is a gap now for someone to come in and make the product that many are obviously looking for and I've not doubt they'll be happy to accept our business. Its all good : )

Im not getting the errors(today anyway), but have experienced long page loading times. In particular when I try to post a comment.

Its not just you, these forums suck. From the slow loading, to the error messages, to the horrible mobile UI, and the fact that they still can't process that I changed my gamer tag months ago... You would think MS could afford decent software, but apparently
that hasn't been in the budget for the last 10 years or so. I know plenty of hobbiest websites that take their forums more seriously than MS. It's just sad really.

 

Copy, Paste, F5...... standard features of the Xbox Forums.....

 

They're never going to "fix" them. The very fact that MS made Pages like "Ooppss that shouldn't have happened" clearly demonstrates they expect it to fail more often then work.

 

This forum software was poor when they used it on the old gamesforwindows.com site. It was poor when they ran a beta for it, and it remains poor to this day.

I'm all for change if it improves things but is there one thing that this forum software does better than the previous one?

 

They made BC possible on X1 but the duds that built this forum can't give us X1 gamer cards or restore picture and video embedding. It's beyond a joke now.

 

I've been getting the occasional error, except if I keep scrolling down I can still read the thread so it hasn't actually been affecting my browsing too much. Slow load times as always though!

Um, not hardly. If we're going to criticize the developers, let's at least criticize them for valid reasons. The fact that page is there actually shows someone knew what they were doing when they programmed things. It's pretty standard to include pages like
that actually. The fact that you see that page so often is what is downright pathetic.

 

I don't get nearly as many errors as I used to but still get them once in a blue moon.
