Follow these steps if you can't install Gears Tactics on Windows 10 / Xbox Beta

First of all, this Xbox app is still a joke. What is more terrible is that you can't get proper troubleshooting from Microsoft staff, and you have to wait for a player to come up with a useful solution.

If you can't install Gears Tactics via Xbox Beta app and you are logged in, and you have an active subscription, do the following:

1) Check for windows update by opening up Start menu and start typing 'Check for updates'

a) If you see 'You're up to date' you are good to go. If Gears Tactics still won't install, jump to 2)

b) Install updates, restart computer. Re-check for update, install update, restart computer, etc. until you see a)

2) If your system is up to date but Gears Tactics still wouldn't install, visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/gaming-services/9mwpm2cqnlhn and
install OR update Gaming Services

The above steps helped me finally installing Gears Tactics. Good luck

Yeah the lack of support for it is awful. Even for a Beta

It must be some sort of server issue or a common method of throttling or something? Who knows. It is really frustrating. My new provider - I can't load the store at all, and I can't log in to Xbox Live without VPN. So weird.

I was thinking about putting Game Pass games on my secondary but then I saw the clusterf**k mess of folders that it puts in root and I dumped that idea. Steam doesn't make that mess thankfully.

Anyway it is starting to look less like an ISP issue and more like something bigger..

I used as a program because I could turn it on JUST for Xbox / MS Store but could run it through router as well if I wanted.. I use PIA but there are some that will give you a money back trial.

wow i have been looking for something like this for a while i'm also having problems to install gears tactics myself, and i thought that could be because of my pc (it is not as good for game as i would like to). Thanks man really appreciate it

I tried this as well and it worked, I have no idea why it is erroring out when I don't use a VPN, I have unlimited data...
