FM5 Manual / Or How to Use

I am really struggling with how to properly play FM5...is there any web based resource that would guide me on exactly the correct steps to take once I load up the game...any suggestions / recommendations appreciated

DLC content is extreme extremely unfair!

Have you seen how much FREE content has been released for FM5?

 

Xbox Controller for Disability

Just read the manual and or Google different ways of how to use this controller in various ways that would work for your part.

 

Right trigger is gas... left toggle is steering. The rest is like colouring... just stay between the lines. The menus are the hardest part of the game imho. I would start with the Campaign (which I did) and run the first few leagues until you are comfortable.
Also play around with the different option on the start screen. It will confirm you are about to purchase something if you are about to purchase something so don't worry about that. You can also visit
Forza's website and sign in with the MS login and received credits each month for racing. Plus the forums there are pretty shweet. Do you have any specific questions?

 

If you go to the Forza forums just don't EVER post anything negative about Forza 5. They have a strict policy of not permitting any negative feedback and will promptly ban you for the same. I call this the "ostrich approach" to business in that they bury
their heads in the sand at the first sign of issues. Hey, it's just not a good way to present yourself in business. I've been, among many other things, a business owner, a chamber of commerce ambassador and sales manager during my ongoing career so, what do
I know? ;-)

 

Add to that a soldier in the U.S. Army and an Insurance Commissioner appointed arbitration panel member (not once but twice), for a total of 4 years. I heard and decided arbitration cases for my State. I'm preemptively tooting my own horn since I know there
will be some who will defend the admin of the Forza forums.

 

I'm not going to step in and defend anyone - but I will say that Harry is absolutely, 100% wrong in his assessment of the FM.net forums. Those forums are full of good information about the game. They are home to a lot of people who've been playing Forza
games for years and have lots of good advice/information to offer. The people that get banned do not get banned for pointing out issues or speaking negatively about the game - they get banned for being jerks, for taking things to far, and/or for violating
the terms of use.

Harry - I'm not sure what happened to you that you have such a negative opinion of those forums. Are the FM.net forums really so bad that you need to come here bashing them every chance you get? It seems to me that someone with your "credentials" would have
learned along the way that sometimes it's better to just say nothing at all.

I agree with Camhawk OP, play the career mode for a while and get a few races under your belt. The game is quite realistic in my opinion. I've only had the game about 3 weeks I think, and pretty much a novice to racing games. Usual driving strategy really,
slow in fast out. Don't just hammer the trigger buttons, slowly apply pressure on the brakes and acceleration, especially coming out of corners. Try and brake in a straight line before the corner, same as accelerating out of them, especially in the faster
cars. I put all of my cars to AWD drive and build them for grip and handling, this serves me well on a majority of the courses. Whilst some of the assists will help your times I feel they take the control and fun out of the game, practice with different assists
until you find a happy medium, I do use the braking line though, this helps tremendously. Just keep practicing and find a car you like.

 

Crunchy, I respect your opinion and, I'll admit, my opinion is based on experiences from a few years ago. Maybe things are different now. It just seemed to me that there was a very high incidence of folks getting the ban hammer for stating, in a reasonable
"tone", their negative opinions. I did see this very thing happen more than once. Again, maybe things are different now or, maybe I observed "isolated" incidents. No big deal, really. I just don't bother with those forums because, right or wrong, it left a
bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I'm off base. It wouldn't be the first time. lol

p.s. I'm one of those guys who wears his heart on his sleeve and says what he thinks. Fault me for it if you will. It's my personality. I call it like I see it. The silver lining is folks never have to wonder where they stand with me. And by the way, I think
you're a decent fella.

 

By the way, nothing ever happened to me personally over there. I have a user name in good standing there. I had personal friends who had issues over there. I just ended three sentences with "there". And now, FOUR! Ha! lol

I chose this user name some years ago because the character Clint played isn't too far from how I am. I don't always follow the rules to get things done but, I always have good intentions and solid moral standards. My point is, sometimes I don't get along
well with rules.

I suspect that we're very much the same as I often wear my heart on my sleeve as well. So, don't take any offense to anything I've said as well. You and me are the types that will sometimes just have to agree to disagree. I'm cool with that!!

I post lots of off topic and colorful monolog. In fact, it probably comprises most of what I post on the Xbox forums. But, I tend to post most of my "off the wall" stuff in threads that don't serve and real purpose anyway. This thread isn't one of those
so I'd better conclude my rabbit trails.

 

Just keep going at it until you connect, when it happens forza 5 will own your soul.

Always use the cockpit view, the other views are no good really as they are either too low or have a damping effect that messes with accuracy.

 

I disagree, Tox. The bumper cam is a great view and is the one I use most often. I also like the cockpit view and use it often as well. I would not recommend using either of the two 3rd person views however.

 

Cockpit view doesn't work for me. I use a wheel and seeing the wheel in front of me and also on the screen is just weird. I use the bumper cam view.
