Flight simulator installation crash

Hi,

I have the following specs (prior to the FS2020 installation):

Windows 10 20H2 10.0.19042 (latest update)

Free storage: 154 GB SSD

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz, 2904 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 12.0 GB

NVIDIA GEFORCE 940MX

System Model Aspire R5-571TG (acer)

Which all seem to me to be quite a margin above the minimum requirements, and yet I always get the following message "your computer does not meet the minimum requirements. As a result, you may experience errors during the game." when starting the installer.

I run it anyways, and once it reaches the following point (see image below), it just crashes and returns to the desktop with no error messages whatsoever.

I'm running it through Steam if that's any help.

I'm considering giving up, but maybe some of you guys out there might have some ideas I haven't tried.

Here is what I've tried so far:

- Update Windows

- Update Xbox console companion

- Disabling Windows Firewall

- View Advanced System Settings -> System properties -> Advanced -> Settings -> Advanced -> Change -> Custom Initial size 18278MB, Maximum size 36556 MB

- Deleting & Reinstalling the game

- Rebooting numerous times

- I've followed the memory usage through Task manager, it's only using half of the RAM

- Running it as administrator

- Removing all other irrelevant processes

I'm really completely blank, no idea whatsoever what I'm doing wrong here..
