Flight Simulator 2020 won't download from Windows Store

Flight Simulator (all versions) will not download: hangs, eventually display "error" with no number; "details" enters a rabbit-hole that ends with Troubleshooter can't find anything wrong.

Within seconds of taking payment, Microsoft Store window will display a button in the upper-right corner "Install/play"

"Starting download"; then "error See details".

My rig will eventually show me "Turn on Windows Update" with Code 0x80070422.

I ran services.msc: quickly confirming that Windows Update IS running - startup type = Automatic

Running Windows Troubleshoot proved completely useless waste of time: "Troubleshooter couldn't identify the problem".

Scoured the internet - to no avail. Found that THOUSANDS of paying customers were suffering the same FAILED Download saga.

Hello,

You could try downloading from the Xbox App if the Microsoft Store App isn't working. I have seen that slower internet speed have greater troubles downloading the game -- which could be the source of your issue if your internet speeds are slower.

I took an additional look at the Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums for additional help on your issue, and it looks like you are not the only one. I cannot offer a truly viable answer here, but I believe that the MSFS Forums may have more people able to assist or help you with this issue.

Did not fix anything turning off all firewalls and anti virus programs.

I also have a problem were the installer wont download any files it just hangs on one file forever, i left it all night and still on the same file but nothing is being downloaded to the install location, i have tried all "fixes" including resetting my
pc, this is beyond a joke please provide an alternative download for all of us who cannot use the installer cause it fails no matter what, dont get me started on the fact the game tries to load itself with no files??? did you even test your installer?

Honestly that is the most annoying thing. I bought the DVD version not to have to wait hours of download before playing. In the end, I've bought the game three days ago, and I still can't play it because I'm browsing the web trying to understand why it does
not install and then update properly.

So the update process is stuck on one file that just won't load : fs-base-0.1.62.fspatch

I can't go on playing.

No possibility to play without updating. No constructive answer from the developpers on the web, or any microsoft affiliate.

How can this happen, I remember installing things way faster with windows 95 and that's saying something.
