I've got the game refunded. I am thinking of getting another version of the game, Steam or DVD, for another shot.

I think mine might have got wedged because it kept crashing during the update.

Eventually it got to a state where it would not download anything to the default content location.

Not sure if it's a full solution yet, but I created a new content location (C:\FSContent). Killed and restarted flight simulator and used the Browse button to select the new location. Now it's re-downloading content. Hopefully it will finish
this time!

Once a release date is announced, this page will be updated.

If you’re stuck on the Flight Simulator 2020 checking for updates loading screen, these are the fixes that players have reported:

• Restart the game
• Run as administrator
  • To do this, type ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020’ in the Windows search bar, right-click, then run as administrator
• Download latest Windows updates
• Download latest Nvidia driver updates
